He's absolutely right about the forwards not making a lot of runs to open up the defense, and also about everyone wanting to be closer to the ball (because they're so confident with the ball at their feet) and just wrecking the team's spacing. I guess he's mostly talking about Konrad and Musah, but also to a certain extent Robinson.
The guy who surprised me positively because I had low expectations for him was Miazga. He still got beat / had a mis-read on a couple of runs that created the more dangerous chances that Wales had, but in general he looked like he had a clue what to do out there, was able to make his challenges and not get called for a million fouls. Thank god we've got a healthy John Brooks ordering people around, though, because he was a rock.
I hope we get a Richards - Brooks pairing tomorrow, so we can directly compare how that looks. Richards is 20, while Miazga is 25 of course, so it's not entirely a fair contest, but I'd really like to see how noticeable the speed difference is, what his passing looks like in this context, etc. (also, RIP to CCV's national-team career, huh?
