Say what you will about Bradley's speed, he still can see the field and generally attempts the right pass.

He also had that wonder goal at the Azteca so he's still in his dispensation period.

California. Duh.
That was actually a great touch from Zardes on the long ball from the keeper. That thing was coming in hot and he controlled it perfectly.

Yes, it was just changed a month ago.
No kidding. So position in the 6 and can play anywhere inside the box now?
I like it as it allows more control out of the back on a GK. Will help at lower levels where the space 18 to sideline is less than on these full sized fields also.

I won't give Zardes too much grief for that, the ball bounced just a little earlier than it needed to, tough for him to keep it down and still get something on it.

I dont really want to hate on Zardes but hitting flat crosses to him like some sort of super shit Romelu Lukaku is a very frustrating way to try to win matches

Games are independent events. 1-0 win is 50-0 win. Couldn't care less how someone "looked" in a sample size of one (1).

Outcomes of individual soccer games can be influenced by all sorts of random stuff, so how a team looks is sometimes more interesting and informative than the result. Right now, the US is getting outplayed at home by a team mostly filled with third-rate Dutch players.

Nah I refuse to believe how a team looks in 90 mins matters when the previous 270 minutes have been good?

It's a data point to be contextualized among other data points. That means it's not everything and it's not meaningless either.

Curaçao aren't that talented, but their squad has a more impressive resume than T&T or Guyana. That the US looks bad is not a good data point for us.

US vs. Panama was a battle of B teams, hard to take too much from it.

win 5-0, it doesn't count
win 1-0, DIDN'T WIN BY ENOUGH
Nobody said this. As was pointed out, it’s not the score/outcome that is the problem. They were more or less dominated 2nd half by an inferior opponent. There would be no complaints if they carried play but were a little wasteful

Why did nobody get excited about the dominating wins then? "It's just weak competiton." So basically there's no acceptable outcome even when they win.

Welcome to the Gold Cup. Anything other than comfortable wins until at least the semis and no losses to anyone other than Mexico and it's a complete and total failure.

I don't get why it bothers you so much that people are happy the US won but upset with the effort and execution. You watched the game the same as the rest of us.

Because overreacting and evaluating on single games drives me up a wall in any sport.
