Probably Rich Hill’s last appearance. This experiment did not work out.

Sad. He’s a good guy and story.

Rich Hill is a fun story but it is INSANE that he’s getting high leverage innings in the middle of a playoff push. I swear every team nowadays has a revolving door of power arms, and we’ve got… Rich Hill. The minor league pitching cupboard is absolutely barren.

Damn. Darling says, "I don't think I have even experienced an inning like this even while I was wearing the uniform in the minor leagues."

My wife’s main rooting interest is in the Pats
My daughter’s main rooting interest is in the Bruins.
My main rooting interest is in the Sox.
We made a little family wager that whoever’s team wins a championship first gets their very own gallon of ice cream that they don’t have to share.
There’s no way I’m going to win.

This might be the worst game of the season. Absolutely pathetic display all around. Everyone except Duran and the starting pitchers has completely given up.

Chaim really dug us a serious hole in terms of pitching

Check out Cubs game if you can
Reminder that we pathetically lowballed Shota with a 2/26 offer

What sucked the life out of this team? Is it Casas? Devers’ shoulder? Just a bad run by the bullpen? Obviously a combo package, but this team was grinding at-bats, fighting back, making plays for a good run there and they’ve now been absolutely lifeless for two weeks. Feels like a clubhouse issue.

really nice of our supposed two best relivers to give us a fighting chance in the 9th, on top of everything else that occurred at Citi Field the past 50 hours.

When they released Big Dom Smith, the wheels came off.

If a team thinks Rich Hill — who I think first pitched for the Sox when Lefty Grove was their ace — is the answer to its pitching woes, then that says more about the Sox than it does about Hill

, Andrew Bailey turned out to have the secret sauce that would save the Sox’ pitching staff, didn’t he? Especially the bullpen.

Time to shut Devers down. The guy’s trying, but he’s also hurt and hasn’t been the same in weeks.

i get it, Ceddanne Rafaela is only 23, but he’s a bundle of mismatched parts. He makes a great play one minute and throws the ball away the next. The only reason he’s in the Rookie of the Year discussion is because this year’s AL rookie class blows (“but but the RBIs!!!!).

The same goes for Wilyer Abreu, who’s so useless against lefties I keep mistaking him for Reggie Jefferson.

Why’d the Sox dump Kyle Schwarber again? Or Dave Dombrowski, for that matter? Because he moncadaed an elite farm system in Boston?

Bonus rant:

On what day did NESN create Jared Carrabis, and why couldn’t it have rested on that day? One Pat McAfee is bad enough. Although the way NESN shoves him down our throat every night, maybe Roman Reigns is a better comparison.

Good night all

I think the offense feeds off of Raffy. This injury has really messed him up, and it feels like there have been dominos.

Season long cascading pitching injuries followed by replacing our best hitter with a black hole. Team is very ground down.

All of the brutal walk off loses and blown leads had to have been demoralizing for the team, especially when it was happening almost every night. Playing longer games and having innings like the 8th tonight probably took a toll physically.

Every team has injuries, all the pitchers are hurt these days. I like many of the young guys but this team just sucks right now and the continued second half shitting the bed has to stop.

This is the first time the Sox have issued 3+ bases-loaded walks in an inning since 9/6/2010 - a game the Sox won, 12-5, over the Rays, despite Robert Coello and Dustin Richardson walking three straight Rays with the bases loaded in the 7th inning.
