Yaz also told of Reggie throwing the ball over the CF wall from a standing position on home plate.

The Globe reported in the late 70s that the players semi-regularly held HR throwing contests:  Yaz, Rice, Dewey, Burleson, I want to say Fisk, maybe Hobson before his elbow got too cluttered.

Did not witness this, but was talking with an older fan in Tiger Stadium (prior to Comerica Park), and he told me that before a game, he saw Rocky Colavito throw a ball from LF out of the ballpark over the 1st base line.....and there was an upper deck on the first base line......always heard he had a great arm, and remember that he won a game in relief. 
 
Realize that wiki is about the lamest link that one could ever provide, but this one also tells about a throw from the plate over a CF wall.....
