I'm still stunned by that holding call near the goal line. I thought refs put the whistles away in such situations. Suddenly a holding call at the moment Peyton air mails one into the stands.

Anyone who didn't see this coming the minute Denver had home field advantage locked up didn't pay attention to the Broncos this season. Every thing that could have gone their way did, and most of it has to do with the Patriots handing it to them than anything else. The deplorable loss to the Broncos in the regular season thanks to a stupid play by Harper and the worst officiating you'll ever see, the losses to Miami, the Jets and the Eagles to give Denver home field. Big Ben and Antonio Brown getting hurt going into the divisional round, and then their 8th string running back, Toussaint, handing a fumble to Denver at the worst moment. The Pats shitting all over themselves two weeks ago, Ghost missing....You can add it all up, but this was a forgone conclusion. Easiest money I've made on a Super Bowl in a long, long time though. So there's that. I guess.

Carolina has to be considered the most disappointing favorite in SB history. Pats v Giants was crushing but both teams at least played hard. Redskins got smoked by the Raiders when they were faves but probably shouldn't have been. Vikings getting clobbered by the Chiefs was another time that the wrong team was favored. Only the Colts being beat by the Jets is comparable and the Colts didn't make nearly as many mistakes.

They do put their whistles away, for the most part. Norman forced their hand by unsubtly mauling Denver's best receiver.

Get your game face on, Newton. You're getting the ball back. Score fast and then onsides.

Brady would be screaming at the offense.

I lost a lot of respect for Newton tonight - and I've been a fan.

Hopefully, he grows up over the offseason.

Somewhere there's a joke in here with Sheriff and impersonating law enforcement but I don't have it yet
