Why do you hate him from his Bruins days? I feel like he didn't do anything here that would warrant such hate.I hate Joe from the Bruins days. Don't really care about his shark years.
Thought Kessel deserved the conn smythe, but they couldn't not give it to Crosby it seems.
They're angry because it's an older team and they know this is probably the closest the Thornton/Marleau version of the team will ever get to the Cup. It's just frustration. Sharks fans have been through a lot in the last ten years. The crowd is angrier than I remember past crowds being, even when the road team won.
Classy though for the celebration.
But the crowd in the arena in Vancouver that night was fantastic. And despite all that I don't think they're angrier than Vancouver was in 2011. No one is going to be rioting in San Jose tonight.
A couple years ago, someone ranked the response Bettman received for the Conn Smythe/Stanley Cup presentations. 2011-Vancouver was the second-angriest, only behind some mid-90s presentation (1997 Philly seems a possibility). The hate from the Rogers Centre crowd matched the hate of all of Vancouver, and it was magically delicious. And despite all that I don't think they're angrier than Vancouver was in 2011. No one is going to be rioting in San Jose tonight.
I feel bad for the die-hard Sharks fans (and there are quite a few of them), but the average bandwagon fan around here barely paid attention to the series. They are all firmly on the Warriors train, so it won't be anything like in Vancouver. They're angry because it's an older team and they know this is probably the closest the Thornton/Marleau version of the team will ever get to the Cup. As one of those diehards, this one hurts because they came so far and it's probably their last chance with this group. But the Sharks got outplayed throughout the series, Pittsburgh was a better team. This one doesn't hurt as much as 2002, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2013, or 2014 did.I feel bad for the die-hard Sharks fans (and there are quite a few of them), but the average bandwagon fan around here barely paid attention to the series. Yeah, I hear you. At least they finally got over the Conference Finals hump this time.As one of those diehards, this one hurts because they came so far and it's probably their last chance with this group. Congrats! Enjoy it!FUCKIN RIGHT
also Sid was really really good the last two series. I was fine with him or really anybody. It was a team effort.
Ok, I lied. This hurts a lot.As one of those diehards, this one hurts because they came so far and it's probably their last chance with this group. I am going to. I know I didn't appreciate 2009 enough, but I will definitely treasure this one.Congrats! Enjoy it!
Congrats. I can't stand that franchise, but they are deserving champions. And there are more than a few guys I was rooting for, especially Sheary who captained my alma mater and was by all accounts a great kid.FUCKIN RIGHT

That third period was a defensive clinic. I fully expected the Sharks to lay siege and it never got going. Just an incredible performance.I am going to. I know I didn't appreciate 2009 enough, but I will definitely treasure this one.
A fun team, a bold coaching staff and GM, and a whole host of unlikely contributors.
He has a limited NTC, a big contract, and outside of Calgary, is there any place that needs or wants goaltending? Dallas has a situation they'd probably like to improve on, but both Lehtonen and Niemi are signed for another year for sizeable cap hits. I guess Carolina is probably going to let Ward go as a FA, but they don't want to take on big money either. Detroit? Is this the end of MAF in Pittsburgh?
