I think as a rainbow, it's up there with the best.

Absolutely. I ripped a blaster tonight and got a Jim Palmer auto/75 and a Juan Soto image variant. Were I to jump on ebay with those 2 cards, I'd turn a profit. Go figure.

I also have the BoSox in a 6-hobby box break tomorrow.
Lots of nice Sox cards in this. Doerr, Williams, Nomar, Casas, Mo, Bello, Pedro, Pedroia, Devers

I don't post much, mostly lurk and learn. But I'm hoping to get some advice from you all. I used to collect hand signed autographs at Mccoy Stadium in the 90's. They were well preserved but I no longer want the cards and have been trying to sell them on eBay but even though the recent buyers have left great feedback, it's been a slow go. I've sold maybe 30 cards and have another 1500-1800 to go. Is there anywhere that might be a quicker better option for getting this done? I'm no longer going to card shows or know any online dealers who may have interest.
Thanks for any help or suggestions

Yes there are multiple Facebook groups where you can sell them. Request to join one of these. If they are reasonably priced, you will get interest, and can also avoid eBay fees.

Baseball Autographs TTM
In Person Autographs

So my 6-box break landed me a Bello auto, a Williams /50, and 3 cards short of a team set.
I might dive back in for another break, and I might just grab the 3 I need cheap. Decisions, decisions.

Whoah! Night 2 break prices are nuts. I'll hold off for a bit. BTW, if anyone wants a 2024 Heritage team set, LMK.

I feel like I've watched cases of this with no good Sox at all so take that and run. I'm doing my one and only Sox case break tomorrow for it, get me a team set and one cool thing and I'm good to go

You need any recent singles from the last couple years to complete team sets? I've got longboxes of Topps/Chrome/Heritage/Archives/Platinum/Bowman.

I’m a sucker for 90’s inserts. Crusades, PMGs, Rubies, Finest gold embossed, etc, etc.
I "worked" in one of my best friends' card shop until '98. If a Red Sox card came in, it went home with me. As it turns out, a lot never came in.

edit: my dream job post-retirement might be sorting baseball cards. Zen garden shit.

I've "seen" 3 half cases and seen 2 Casas Autos and the Bello I pulled. Dammit.

I did my (likely only) case break of this one. I got whiffed on autos but got a Bobby Doerr xFractor, a Masataka Yoshida Rose Gold Diamond to /75, and a Triston Casas City Variation from the one-per-case pack, and the City Variation was probably the only type of card in I was absolutely going to buy so to get Casas is great. Pretty solid. What I have noticed is the massive variance in auto quality between cases. The one I was in had two Bobby Witt Autos /99, Christopher Morel /25, Scott Rolen /15, Randy Johnson /15, and only one or two absolute junk autos whereas the case before it had 2/3 terrible autos.

With that said, three parallels/cards I'd actually really want for my collection, one more numbered card (Winckowski /499), and I presume most or all of a Sox base set isn't a bad haul. I'll likely stick to singles for the autos I want though. The parallels last year were so much better but I like the new city variations and they did a really good job with the set overall.

Congrats. That is an awesome pull. As in "the only insert I might buy from the set" awesome.

I just scored another 4 box break at my desired price point. If that doesn't finish my team set, I'll be coming for you! lol

The break I didn't try to buy into just started and got a in Papi auto /10 and a numbered Bello and Devers in one box so ...choices were made.

Let me know if you come up short!

I hate watching breaks I didn't win. lol

Also, I have landed in the "bummed" category that Yaz was not on this checklist. This is a great set.

Just unearthed about 10 full, four rack cardboard boxes of old cards. Mostly 80s sports and 90s comic cards. Anything I should keep an eye out for? And with all the chafe, where’s the best place to donate?

I think 90s comics will still have some minor collectability. Like, unless they're the premium stuff not a ton but with the comic movie boom they still hold a bit of sway. I'm thinking the 1990-1992 Impel Marvel and 93-94 Marvel Masterpieces. They're not gonna make you rich but I'll generally grab those if I see them in a $.50 bin just to look at. To get anything much out of those they usually need to grade well but they're still worthwhile.

For 80s sports...it's really rough. Very generally, I'd say if you have time take out cards of your S-Tier players (Hall of Famers or Super Popular Guys - Griffey, Randy Johnson, Mattingly, Bo Jackson, etc.) as those can still pull in a bit of change - also pull out rookies of more notable players. You'll see moving boxes of like 10-20k of these cards go for $15 to people who just want to prune, and it's mostly worthless otherwise. I'd say if you get back before like...1987 or so it may be worth looking more, but cards from 87-92 or so were SO heavily produced that only the cream of the crop tend to hold even minor value and I don't think they ever will. It's probably destined for recycling/trash.

There's a very notable omission here. And if I were to hazard a guess, I imagine he'd take that very personally.

I really like this card, but I already have 3 Casas Autos, so I passed on one locally at a decent price. His was the #/99. Great card, but I didn't need it.
I definitely didn’t need it, or the others I have coming, but I do like them haha.

I also have 4 boxes to open, so let’s see if I can pull anything decent

After about a year of trying, I caught my white whale.

I scored an on card certificated BK Kim auto in a Sox uniform from 2005.

This completes my set for signed 2004 Sox on card autos.

Kim was near impossible to hunt down. I even sent a letter to someone with the same name in San Diego with $20 and a card hoping it was him.

FYI: eBay is severing ties with American Express, effective 8/17 - a royal PITA for my fledgling buy/sell operation. :(
USPS and fees killed it for me (just wanted to sell what I didn’t want) already.

This is amazing. I followed the original story on BlowoutForums and had no idea you were on SoSH. Please never sell the card and keep it on eBay just to draw attention to it so Lew can be exposed for the scammer that he is.
I kept it up for quite a while. I even turned down an $850 Buy It Now offer, which could have been Umpire Lew or one of his friends for all I know. But the number of watchers and views is dwindling now, so I think it's time to salvage something from the situation.

I'm going to be listing the Trout as a 7-day eBay auction tonight, with 100% of the proceeds going to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Set of signed 2004 Sox cards complete. If you are looking to do this, start looking for Kim ASAP. Nearly impossible to find.

Is anyone here doing any of the Upper Deck Marvel cards? I was hugely into them as a kid (still have them all including 6 or 8 full sets of Marvel Series 1 from 1990). Thinking of getting back back into them with my youngest and curious what people are seeing/enjoying. Damn did these get way more expensive but some look really awesome (Masterpiece and Platinum were boxes I was looking at). Thanks!
After seeing some Marvel Flair opened, it’s worth looking at. Really sleek cards and artwork

He owns a sushi restaurant in San Diego so you probably sent it to the right guy.

I actually have a case of them here, was waiting for the weekend to do some ripping. Let me know if you open any yourself.
I hopped in a break to get a few packs (no LCS near me carries Marvel it seems). I'll link the video below but over six packs I got a /199 Ghost Rider (the foil background on the parallels) a couple of great looking inserts (Acrylic Aether and Power Blast), and an artist autographed Hawkeye (one of the coolest cards I've seen). Lucky but it's a very cool product. Make sure you have a checklist up to check for rarity while you open, it's easy to miss some very rare stuff ( insert sets have SPs and SSPs all over the place)

My packs around 7:15 and 25:15

Great hits! Yes I’ll be printing the checklist to compare against.
We did a box of Marvel Platinum tonight and got a Groot /35 and a CAV of Thing that odds say are 1:800 packs so that was exciting.
