Since we all know we're smarter than all the sportswriters out there (except Chad Finn of course) I was thinking that we should do our own MLB awards.
I think we should mirror the actual awards for the most part and select a SoSH MVP, Cy Young, ROY, Hank Aaron Award, and Rolaids (although in real life this is points based, but I think we should vote on it--we should get a better name too).
I'll start a new thread for each award for discussion, and we'll pick candidates, then I'll start a voting thread. There's a few ways to do the actual voting--get the top nominees, then do a 5-4-3-2-1 vote, assuming we can trust people to vote for different players in each listed question or we can just do the votes in the thread or we can just list the top candidates and have it a straight vote, not 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th.
Thoughts? Since we're likely only doing, at most, a 5-4-3-2-1 voting, we likely don't need to go 20 candidates deep, but I can start with a baseline of maybe 10-15, and we can add or subtract as needed--when it appears a consensus has formed, I'll start a voting thread.
