I am honestly stunned not one person here mentioned this. Can you imagine the reaction here if another player on another team wrote a letter like this? People went apeshit just because the Cavs owner used a silly font. Look at the layout on the letter. It's supposed to fit on that sheet of paper on that fake pad yet it bleeds over? It's hilarious.
Letter would have gone over less well here if it had been written by, say, Curt Schilling.

He sounds like Matthew McConaughey in those Lincoln commercials.

"I've been posting on Sons of Sam since long before anyone paid me....I didn't do it to be cool...I didn't do it to make a statement..I just liked football.."

Why are you going down this road? Berry is like this right now:

And you're running over for a hug.
This post singlehandedly makes this thread worth reading.

It's so sad when adults are illiterate.
This is funny as shit.

Also, did you see the later tweet where he posted a picture of his wife in the tub surrounded by rose petals? We're all just going to ride right past that strangeness without comment?

Berry's post was funny--people need to lighten the fuck up. And I say that as someone who finds his Patriots complex only slightly less pathetic than his newfound status as a lifelong Mets fan.

Berry is here to piss people off and for no other reason.  Responding to him as if he has an actual point gives him what he wants.

To me, the funniest part of this is I forgot he was still a member here, I don't recall him posting at all during the season.

But right on cue, he pops up like a pimple on the ass of humanity to shit on a Patriots player for the sole purpose of getting a rise out of people.

Which he did, so he's got that going for him, which is nice.

Here
There are now more posts of people getting offended over people getting offended than there were actual posts of people getting offended. It's offensive.

Seriously. When you see a Berry post in a Pats thread, what the fuck did you think it was going to say?

This letter was very badly written. This man went to college. It had nice thoughts in it and he won 2 Super Bowl rings with the Pats. But it would get a failing grade in a 6th grade classroom.

No, he went to Miami. His 10 year old kid probably had to type that up for him.

I wonder if he ever could have imagined that that post would turn into a thread of "The Best of SeanBerry"?

I could care less what Sean Berry thinks or says. I'm not the least bit offended. His characterization of the letter is probably accurate. But I'm totally missing the part where his post is supposed to be funny. It's just lame.

I remember him. He's the guy who hates poor people and thinks he's better than them. That's always been his thing. Pokey people? They're poor, remember? Wilfork is probably a Pokey person.

I remember when he was a lurker and I got a PM from a mod telling me to lay off him in being critical of his posts. I wish I hadn't deleted that. I think I actually got a warning for it.
. I'm pretty sure he's a real life friend of a mod or two.

Whether he is or isn't, the mods have bent over backwards to protect him. They would say to protect BBtL, and that's fine. I want a decent place too.

But don't do a drive by in the Vince W thread and then complain when the mods split it out. And especially don't do it when you were arguing in Backwash that BBtL should be improved by breaking out threads that attack his beloved Jets.

And that is precisely that he did. See the thread in P and G.

And to those knee jerk protectors of outsiders, this is not false equivalency. It's common sense.

He'd respond to your comments, but he's busy firing up his Betamax player so he can watch "Two games to glory; the story of the 1968 New York Jets."
