Oh, I understand there are a lot of reasons why people are guessing he'll cover Prince. I saw a clip on YouTube from one of the times he played I Would Die 4 U and it had like a full singing chorus, band, and him playing the piano, so it seems like he already has an arrangement that could make it on the big stage. Perhaps an interlude in between up tempo dance numbers?

A few thoughts on this as our resident DJ...

- Timberlake and Prince had a long-running beef. In 2007, on "Give It To Me", he dissed Prince (and Janet!) after Prince said "Sexy never left" at some concert. They never reconciled their beef, so... I'm not totally sure he'll do a Prince song, though I'd be really disappointed if he didn't.
- If I was a betting man though, I'd go with a song in the same tempo as "Sexyback" and "Like I Love You" (117 and 115 BPM, respectively), which among Prince's "sexier" songs, that means "Kiss". Do a verse/chorus from Sexyback into the vocals for Kiss (with instrumental of Sexyback still going), then at a verse change bring in the Kiss instrumental, then at the end of the chorus, drop the drums from "Like I Love You" and go into that.

At a post-Emmy Awards party in 2006, Prince referenced Timberlake’s hit “SexyBack” by saying, “For whoever is claiming they are bringing sexy back, sexy never left!”

Weeks later, Timberlake presented the award for Best Original Song at the Golden Globes, which was won by Prince for “Song of the Heart” from the animated film “Happy Feet.” Prince was reportedly stuck in traffic, so Timberlake made fun of the artist’s 5’2” stature by bending his knees and lunging upward at the microphone. Shortly after, Timberlake released a verse on a song by his longtime producer Timbaland called “Give It to Me” that reads: “If sexy never left, then why’s everybody on my sh–?/ Don’t hate on me just because you didn’t come up with it.”

That makes Timberlake look like a fucking child. Jesus. Prince didn't even "diss" him in his initial statement, and it was at a party. So Timberlake takes offense (for what, exactly?) by mocking the guy's physical appearance at the Golden fucking Globes ceremony? And then feels the need to talk about it again on a song that, again, doesn't even make sense in the context of Prince's statement.

Good lord. Talk about a stretch.

As his team had done research and showed it averaged 18 times and the O/U was only 12.5 so they were telling all their people to bet the over hard.

It is now confirmed that there are exactly 2 But Light commercials and you can watch them both online. There are 12 "Dilly"s between them, and I do not believe Al or Cris will contribute 7 more from kickoff to final whistle.

Shoes and hat are both bets, but I don't work with inside tips unless there are zero degrees of separation between me and the root source. 99% of the time, they are wrong.

That list is misleading. Click onto Can't Stop the Feeling and you'll see that it's credited to Justin Timberlake, Max Martin, and Shellback. SexyBack lists Timberlake and Danja (Nate Hill).

When Max Martin or Danja (who are the songwriting equivalents of the Wrecking Crew for Phil Spector) have writing credits, it's a reasonable bet they actually wrote at least the vast majority of the song. Martin in particular is a pop songwriting machine: he wrote the half of the Taylor Swift catalog, along with hits for Britney Spears, Maroon 5, Pitbull, Nikki Minaj, Bon Jovi, the Weeknd, Katy Perry, Ariana Grande, Christina Aguilera, Celine Dion, etc.

Timberlake's more hands on than some of those so he probably was involved, but Martin's a huge factor there (and with N*Sync, the Backstreet Boys, Nick Carter, etc).

Only Paul McCartney and John Lennon have written more #1 hits than Max Martin.
