Tonight will be my first ever Bruins playoff game. I'll be there with my dad and son.

I've seen all of the other Boston teams in the playoffs. I've seen wins from all other Boston teams in the playoffs. And I've seen those wins in championship seasons (Sox game 1 2018 WS; Celts game 2 2008 vs. Lebron; Pats 2003 divisional vs. Titans and SB vs. Panthers).

So tonight completes the grand slam of seeing all four teams; and hopefully eventually completes the grand slam of seeing all four teams win playoff games in championship years.

Win.

The double play to end the seventh inning in Game 7 of the 2007 ALCS against Cleveland is the loudest I’ve ever heard Fenway. It was fucking bedlam.

Playoff hockey is like that all the time.

I've been basically unable to sleep or otherwise function since procuring the tickets. Huge bucket list item for me. Could not be more excited.

Thanks for reminding me of that Lugo drop.

What time do we think we will hear about Bergergon/Ullmark? I don't think Ill be able to focus on work until I know.

I assume Ullmark is healthy as can be as they sent Bussi back down to Providence yesterday. It now becomes a question of do you think they switch him out in game 5. I think Montgomery goes with Ullmark so long as he is good to go.

Honestly, with Florida most likely being short handed, let him and Krejci rest up for Toronto.
Ekblad and Duclair are expected to play -- why do you think they might be short-handed? If Bergeron is ready, he should play regardless.

I was at three straight Game 7 losses, and the energy getting sucked out of the room (especially in OT vs. Carolina with Scott fucking Walker in 2009) was a physical, palpable thing. Like an abscess. It’s insane. Playoff hockey in person is basically a drug. Game 6 against Vancouver got me over it a bit. :) I hope you love it and they get a win for you.

Dude, that emotional flip from low to high was fucking insane. Can’t taste the sweet without the sorrow, something something.

Win this series tonight. Don't take an unnecessary trip to Florida if we can help it. If he's ready to play, he should play.

That Carolina OT game in 2009 was the worst feeling I had at a sports game. Just an absolute gut punch for the entire building like you described. Sitting in the gov't center garage in my car waiting in the line to leave in total silence was as low as it gets.

On the flip side - Game 6 against the Canucks is the single best sports experience of my life. The delirium in the building when Luongo started skating to the bench is unlike anything else I've experienced in my life.

I was at a friends for the Carolina game 7, and sat in my car contemplating life after that OT goal for 15 minutes or so before finally driving home. As far as tonight goes just get the win. Agree it's tempting to rest Bergeron but if he can play he should...and Im sure there are other important guys that are a bit banged up that could use an extra day or two off, and not an extra flight and game in florida.

I have sometimes thought of that poor little kid who they used to put on the Jumbotron, so he could take off his shirt to show the Bs emblem and flex and wave his shirt above his head, and hoped that he turned out OK after that game. He was fucking exhausted by OT, and I can’t imagine how he felt when they lost. Left it all out on the ice that night, he did.

right here
2011 Game 7 Montreal is up there but it's 2011 Game 7 Tampa for me. The noise when Horton scored was unreal and then it just got louder every clear for the last 8:00. Amazing. As you well know I missed Vancouver game 6 with the plague or that surely would have topped it.

2009 and 2010 were brutal. As was 2012. Bergeron fanned on a bouncing puck with an empty net about 30 seconds into ot and I'll go to my grave claiming there was goalie interference on the goal. Chicago game 6 was a double nut punch. St Louis game 7 was just a long depressing acceptance.

Here's to happy feelings tonight.

I’ll be in house tonight.
The only other Bs playoff game I went to was against Buffalo, a triple overtime win. That was the loudest I’ve ever heard anything and I’ve seen Manowar in concert.

WIN

Pumped to be going. LBI has kept me out of this series. Hopefully returning alongside the captain tonight!

Look Florida, we are never ever getting back together. Don’t blame me that your love story is at midnight rain. Blame your goaltending of a death by a thousand cuts.

I’ll be watching from the air, flying back from Orlando to Logan. Flying is generally a miserable experience but I hope to enjoy tonight’s flight.

I’ll be watching from land, taking the Acela train back to Boston from NYC. Arrive 830, so will catch half on train half at home (assuming Amtrak Wi-Fi holds up)

I hope Bergeron is a go but am confident in the team if he needs to sit out one more.

score early, score often and shut the door. Win please.

All the SoSHers at the rink tonight will surely tilt the mojo our way.

Skate away from the after-the-whistle stuff and care of business.
