Probably coming from the term "head injury", but obviously it's anyone's guess right now.Until we hear anything on Vollmer shouldn't the assumption be that he is back next week and not 2-3. Not sure where that is coming from.

Just a general notice: Referencing Chao may become deemed a suspension worthy offense at some point. He's in the area of Wilbur and that sports law guy who got disbarred and is wrong about everything but who people keep citing anyway.David J. Chao, MD @ProFootballDoc 3s3 seconds ago

Check the picture in this thread. The injury was non-contact.
Sorry, I must have missed the "brutal hit that caused this injury" since he got it planting his foot. I also must have missed the brutal hit that caused his "abdomen injury" and forced him to miss the Jets game.
Tongue in cheek I think?
And I frequently post pictures of my kid, which is niceJust a general notice: Referencing Chao may become deemed a suspension worthy offense at some point. He's in the area of Wilbur and that sports law guy who got disbarred and is wrong about everything.
Dr. Awesome is a couple of orders of magnitude better at least. Follow him at @ChrisGearyOrtho if you are so inclined.

ACL loose is a VERY bad sign! Swelling for isolated tear often doesn't happen until overnight @DionLewisRB @Patriots

Stretched but not torn (I have one) needs rehab and a brace.Mind explaining what a "loose ACL" is?
<barf>
Lewis also played two full heavy usage college seasons at Pitt without suffering an injury that caused him to miss a game. Abdomen thing aside his only other two injuries (leg and knee) were not of the chronic variety. His injury risk moving forward is going to be high for the simple fact that he's an NFL running back but I don't see Lewis carrying any more risk than your average shifty RB.Yes, tongue in cheek. I don't get the worrying over his injury future due to this. He's never had a knee injury before. It was a flukey non-contact injury. We've been through this all with Amendola and Gronk -- I don't feel any different about his ability to stay healthy long-term because of today (assuming full recovery from today).
I'm not going to lie to you... this isn't a thing. Your ACL either tears or it doesn't - stretched is not an option.Stretched but not torn (I have one) needs rehab and a brace.
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/11/08/pats-dion-lewis-waiting-for-mri-results/As the New England Patriots bask in the glow of their first 8-0 start since 2007, they’re a little nervous about one of the more underrated players on the team’s offense.
Per a league source, the Patriots and running back Dion Lewis currently are awaiting the results of an MRI conducted Sunday night on a knee Lewis injured during Sunday’s win over Washington.
Lewis has only 234 yards rushing on the season, but he has added 388 receiving yards. He has four total touchdowns.
His modest numbers understate his impact on the offense, providing a degree of elusiveness none of the team’s other tailbacks possess. Indeed, the ordinarily zero-tolerance Bill Belichick has put up with fumbles and drops from Lewis, given his unique skill set.
Point of order: Can we quote Chao in order to make fun of him and/or his drunken, malpractice-y antics? To update Rev's post. It has become suspension worthy to quote Chao.

I guess this means we should know more by the morning
Of course.Point of order: Can we quote Chao in order to make fun of him and/or his drunken, malpractice-y antics?
As a source he is Incarcerated Bob or Baghdad Bob or Bob Roberts bad.
Probably depends on the health of the o-line. They will need to sign a FA OT or promote someone from the practice squad if both Cannon and Vollmer are still out.If we get the worst case news I wonder if they bring Cadet back in? Looks like he's still a free agent.
This is the first name that came to my mind as a replica of White, who was a replica of the role Lewis played, for the role of "inactive emergency RB." The NFL practice squad rules really hurt a veteran like Cadet as he would have been an ideal candidate to land on the practice squad to easily be the next man up with an injury to Lewis or White. If we get the worst case news I wonder if they bring Cadet back in? Looks like he's still a free agent.
I hope they have reason to list the injury on weekly reports, because that means he's not done for the season.I hope they list the injury as 'Cracked Ribs' just to troll the league.
"Lower body impairment"I hope they list the injury as 'Cracked Ribs' just to troll the league.
no news is good news?BB provided "no news" about Lewis in a reporters phone conference that finished just a little while ago. No whammies. no whammies.....
And I remember how atrocious (by Patriots standards) the offense was at the start of 2013 and how with the addition of each guy -- Gronk & Vereen in particular -- they seemed to get that much better. It's still a top offense without somebody as good as Dion in that role but my confidence that they can put up 30 on a Seahawks or Broncos defense goes down. Basically, with Dion, I'm not sure they can be stopped. Rushing out of the backfield he is the yin to Blount's yang. Need to get out of a deep 'and-long' hole? Try a screen to Dion, he'll make 45 guys miss. Need to create a mismatch on a tough defense? Split him out wide and make the defense decide which guy who is uncoverable by LBs gets covered by a LB.Whistling past the graveyard perhaps, but I've seen RB after RB step into this offense and be successful, and every time one of them has left they were replaced and the offense survived just fine. I hope he's not done, but the season isn't over if he is.
The offense got better when the offensive line figured things out. I honestly think they'll be fine and would be more worried about Vollmer's injury being longer-term.And I remember how atrocious (by Patriots standards) the offense was at the start of 2013 and how with the addition of each guy -- Gronk & Vereen in particular -- they seemed to get that much better. Without him, one of the better defensive coordinators with the right mix of talent is likely to have sustained success. In BB I trust -- he usually finds a way to make it work but it's really hard to adjust for a big loss of talent after the trade deadline when you don't have a great replacement. Hopefully that time a good DC with a strong D has sustained success isn't in the playoffs.
