I coached Stuebs in high school, where he was part of a state championship team. (The blog comment that it was hard to rate him since he had only 1 year of playing football is completely wrong. He was a 3-year starter at Darien HS.)
Of course, the competition is quite different. He however did go up against Zach Allen (current DE for the Cardinals), although a couple years younger and held his own -- they were not directly lined up against each on every play as Allen was moved around quite a bit.
For a man his size, he is fairly athletic, having played basketball in high school as well. I understand that is a long way from being NFL-type athletic.
What I can add is that he is smart and an outstanding person who will work very hard to compete. I would not be surprised to see him as a starter in 2-3 years.

Now that I look at my profile picture. That photo is of a game that featured Steuber vs Allen. This was the game-winning play in a Thanksgiving contest in which Darien (Steuber's team) beat New Canaan (Allen's team). New Canaan also had another NFLer, KC Chief tackle Lucas Niang, who I think most league coaches would agree was not as good as Steuber comparing senior year to senior year.

I appreciate your insight here and I'm glad you chimed in. As a fellow HS coach (basketball not football tho), I know and trust your evaluation of him not only as a player but as a man. Good stuff. Wish you posted more (smile).
