he’s definitely not “easily replaced”. The only way the Pats find a LT approaching the level he gives when healthy is taking Alt or Fashanu 3rd overallTrent Brown is hurt all the time and is on the wrong side of 30. He is easily replaced so time to move on.
Oh my yes, he’s clearly sealed his fate with his comments recently. No f-ing way.he’s definitely not “easily replaced”. The only way the Pats find a LT approaching the level he gives when healthy is taking Alt or Fashanu 3rd overall
the best external option in free agency is Wynn, hardly a paragon of good health. Maybe Tyron Smith if he’s not retained in Dallas but again always hurt. After that, Becton? Always hurt and awful.
next best options are overpaying for the mediocre Jonah Williams or picking through the backups available and hoping for the best (old friend Jermaine Eluemunor, George Fant, Yosh Nijman)
Brown is a headache and rarely available for a full season (2018 and 2022 being the only times recently) but the external options are many steps below him in performance unless you’re willing to pay Williams high end money for mediocre at best performance.
It’s going to be a big problem for whoever the GM is.
Count me as skeptical that the 2024 Trent Brown will be any good. Injury luck seldom improves with aging, especially among OL.he’s definitely not “easily replaced”. The only way the Pats find a LT approaching the level he gives when healthy is taking Alt or Fashanu 3rd overall

Yeah I agree he’s as good as gone but Onwenu probably can’t play LT (otherwise he’s the obvious option). And drafting a guy at 3 really makes it hard to see how they’ll be competitive moving forward. Alt blocking for Zappe or Jacoby Brissett isn’t a great path to being relevant in the AFC EastOh my yes, he’s clearly sealed his fate with his comments recently. No f-ing way.
I’m not sure it’s that big a nightmare though: sign Onwenu and draft an LT high enough to be sure. That’s admittedly a use of the top draft capital, but so be it.
So if injury luck seldom improves and your assertion that he’s easy to replace stands, my assumption is you think the Pats should and will draft a tackle 3rd overall and that guy is surely going to pan out?Count me as skeptical that the 2024 Trent Brown will be any good. You are correct, of course and Onwenu is my RT in this scenario.Yeah I agree he’s as good as gone but Onwenu probably can’t play LT (otherwise he’s the obvious option). Judon later tweeted "Someone send me the list of the top 50 free agents"Nothing to add other than I love Judon. Trent Brown can get fucked
