Water. Big win.

Baseball is unpredictable and doesn't always play out as expected, but this game looked like a borderline Wild Card team beating a last place team.

I had almost forgotten that just before Duran scored on the shallow fly, Devers popped up behind the plate that just hit the screen by an inch.

Baseball.

BosoxFaninCincy called it on the Reds pen

My quick scouting report from the Queen City. Mind you, the only statistics I really understand were on the backs of baseball cards from the 70's, when an interleague game between the Sox and Reds would have featured a Jim Rice at 46/139 vs. George Foster at 40/120 fresh off the heels of a 52/149 in 1977. Alas, this current version is far from the Big Red Machine, in every aspect save the complete lack of complete games, or any starter wandering near the end of the 6th inning. The Reds swing a lot, and miss a lot. Candalario leads the team with a robust .251 batting average. Also, team savant, Elly De La Cruz, brings a lot to the table with both sides of the plate power, which is primarily used this season to generate wind and not much contact. He also takes a lot off the table, witness his 3 errors last week. And if the Sox are within 2 runs after the 6th inning, I would go ahead and put an in-game bet on them to win, as no lead is safe with the Reds bullpen.

I would love for the Reds to make the playoffs. Cincy is basically a small town and sports lift the mood of everyone. But given the relative positions of Cincy and Boston on the wild card front, I can only root for a Red Sox sweep and a wait until next year for the Reds.

Go Sox!

It worked when we cut Sandoval. This isn’t a “new” thing
It worked great when the idiots in the front office FINALLY listened to the fan base and DFA'd Duran and Hamilton and banished Houck to the bullpen too! Thank god we don't have to watch those losers play for us any more.

Yeah, obviously the pen didn't hold the Sox down late, but they weren't helped by the Reds offense running into three dumb outs when they had the Sox pen on the ropes. Kinda nice to see overaggressive stupidity benefiting the Sox for once.
indeed. May the Reds continue their poor baserunning and leaky bullpen work again tomorrow.

Last night was my daughter’s engagement party, nothing in life can compare.

But a Red Sox win is a Red Sox win
