Is there an alternative? DL stint? I just don’t see how you can justify rolling him out there
An IL stint or maybe option him to Worcester. They owe him 3 more years and over $50M. They're absolutely not going to just cut bait with him now.

Worth noting he's 33 PAs (.379 OPS in that time) into a return from a hand injury that was difficult to diagnose and who knows if it's fully healed. In his 32 PAs prior to the injury, he was OPSing .978. Maybe, just maybe he needs some time to get on track again.

Yeah; at that price he's gonna get a very long leash. Pulling for him obviously.

Fair enough and I’m not doubting how the injury could be impacting him. But it’s difficult to justify keeping him in the lineup at this point. He’s been an automatic out since returning.
