Philly is still in the WC conversation. They're tied with Detroit and Columbus, but hold the ROW tiebreaker and they have a game in hand on each.
I'm also not a big fan of DeBoer. Seems like the epitome of "average." However, these past two seasons are all on Lou. You didn't need to be a brain surgeon to look at this team in the pre-season and wonder where the hell the scoring was going to come from and predict another non-playoff year. DeBoer did all he could do by having the defensemen try to play a bigger role in the offense but this team has the least offensively talented set of forwards in the league. Jagr saved them from the cellar.mikeford said:NJD eliminated
2 years in a row with no playoffs and somehow this JACKASS Lead DeBlower keeps his job. Lou must be dead or in a home for Alzheimer's patients.

In the playoffs. Big distinction.TheStoryofYourRedRightAnkle said:Planning to? I figured that losing to Philly was just sort of what they do at this point.
I can't imagine why the Pens would play any of their key guys in that game. I'm not sure what Malkin's timetable is at this point, but besides him I can't see them risking somebody getting hurt or suspended in the event the game turns silly. Rinaldo being suspended calms things a bit, but Downie's back.Greg29fan said:
If I were the Penguins I would be planning to tank the game against Philadelphia on Saturday as much as possible.
