I really like the 11 forward lineup. Lot of different combinations and the players that are going play more.
I can't find the clip but Cassidy mentioned that he's likely to stick with 11 forwards, 7 defensemen until Krejci is healthy. It seems to be working as the coaches get to mix and match. Postma doesn't play much on D so there's little value-add there (unless they are covering their bases that Krug isn't fully healthy) and it does increase the risk if a forward goes down in-game. Maybe it is as simple as expectation-setting - the 11 forwards all know that shuffling will happen out of necessity so they're ready to be flexible. Seems like they could accomplish the same thing by dressing 12 and holding the 12th forward as "break glass in case of emergency" but maybe there would be a morale issue (or maybe they'd have trouble being as flexible).
Looks like Bjork might be back Saturday, and hopefully DeBrusk and Krejci in the near future. We'll see what the coaching staff does next. I'm impressed with how Belesky is handling this in public - I haven't seen/heard any stories about grumbling and/or not putting in the work. I know he gets a paycheck either way but it's got to be hard to be passed over by so many guys and then be so low on the totem pole that with all of the injuries the coach goes 1 forward short rather than have you on the bench.
Fun to watch this group play recently - bodes well for the rest of the year.
