I know not every team can coordinate their jersey sponsor to fit their jersey, but there are five big banks in Canada, and the Habs choose one of the two whose logo actively clashes hard with their home sweaters (RBC).

The Oilers pregame hype video is set to Knights of Cydonia. I am excite.

Also, going back to royal blue and orange is the right choice.

The Arizona tank is off to a strong start down 3-0 after 5 minutes in Pittsburgh.
Sadly, we’ll have to wait more than two weeks until their home opener. My prop bet would be how short they fall of a sellout, with an O/U of 500 out of the ~4000 their borrowed arena seats.

21-11 shot advantage to Toronto, 2-1 deficit where it counts. On the one hand, the Leafs have been EXTREMELY sloppy, and you’d bet on that correcting over time. OTOH, Murray and the now-pronounced-correctly Samsonov have been as advertised, and that’s bad.

Who had Brett Richie in their "who scores the first goal for the season in Calgary" pool?

Looks like its Richie night as Nick gets the first of the season for the University of Arizona Coyotes

Between here and everywhere.
This might be a bit of a hot take, but I don’t think this Washington Capitals team is good enough to make the playoffs.
Their goaltending is suspect, and Ovechkin looked old opening night against the Bruins.

They also don't have much forward depth. It's Ovi, Kuzy, and then....? Mantha? Sheary? I guess Tom Wilson but he's not expected back till at least December.

Carlson is obviously a stud on D. But this is a team definitley past its' peak.

Carlson is also not the same player defensively he was 3-4 years ago. Still great offensively but he's closer to a right-handed Krug than McAvoy these days.

Really really hate to see it for such a respectable franchise.

The Leafs begin the year with 2 regulation losses to MTL and ARZ, the 32nd and 31st teams from a year ago.
