Does Mac seem like the type that would let any of that affect him? His demeanor seems pretty level. Almost robotic.
This is where I'm at. Mac is incredibly poised and we hear a ton about his control and respect of the offense and his teammates. Combined with BBs leadership, OBJs bullshit isn't much of a concern for me.Does Mac seem like the type that would let any of that affect him? His demeanor seems pretty level. Almost robotic.
Ugh. I have seen things about a flight from Teterboro to Norwood this morning because he has been in NYC over the last week. Social media is the worst but I can’t look away. Now you've got people looking up flights on FlightAware. There is a private jet flying from Cleveland to Providence leaving just before 11 AM.
While unlikely, leaking other teams could be a negotiating ploy to put pressure on the Patriots.
Andrews would threaten to break OBJ's neck and that would be that. This is where I'm at. Mac is incredibly poised and we hear a ton about his control and respect of the offense and his teammates. Combined with BBs leadership, OBJs bullshit isn't much of a concern for me.
To what end? Nobody really has money to throw around, doesn't it just come down to his preference? While unlikely, leaking other teams could be a negotiating ploy to put pressure on the Patriots.
Probably preference and role in the offense. If Pats are offering a multi-year deal, could be angling for more money in the 2nd year. Pats have given multi-year deals to mid-season guys in the past.To what end? Nobody really has money to throw around, doesn't it just come down to his preference?
Cue multiple "OBJ is a locker room cancer/washed anyway" posts (including a few possibly from me).
We don't know those guys. Did we hear different things about Eli Manning, a two time Super Bowl MVP when Odell was drafted? This is where I'm at. Well, this isn’t really true, at least not in the way it was true when he was on waivers. Any of these teams could give him a decent chunk of change by negotiating multi year deal that reduces the cap hit for the 2021 league year. That wasn’t possible when he was on waivers because any claiming team had to find a way to absorb the full 7.25M under its cap to be awarded OBJ. That’s why a team like the Saints cried poor; they couldn’t claim him at that cap number. To what end? Nobody really has money to throw around, doesn't it just come down to his preference?
Here's the thing. I think OBJ would have been a net positive. But...i still like the trajectory. I dont think the problems with the Chiefs get fixed by one WR.Cue multiple "OBJ is a locker room cancer/washed anyway" posts (including a few possibly from me).
Eli is also the guy that didn't want to play for the team that drafted him.... Kind of a douche moveWe don't know those guys. Did we hear different things about Eli Manning, a two time Super Bowl MVP when Odell was drafted?
Yes he would be but....he still has talent, and if teams continue to double Kelce and Hill, OBJ could see a ton of passes come his way there. If he signs with KC I can’t wait to see him blow up on Andy Reid when he’s not getting the ball. He would be a distant third fiddle on that offense.
Yeah, KC makes a lot of sense for him. He’ll have so much open space in that offense.Yes he would be but....he still has talent, and if teams continue to double Kelce and Hill, OBJ could see a ton of passes come his way there.
Agree to disagree with OBJ being happy as option #3 in any passing game, but I absolutely may be wrongYeah, KC makes a lot of sense for him. He’ll have so much open space in that offense.
Dunno. We don't know anything about these guys. It cuts both ways.We don't know those guys. Did we hear different things about Eli Manning, a two time Super Bowl MVP when Odell was drafted?
That's my point? We can't go by what we hear guys are like, we never hear QBs are fragile, hard to deal with or can't handle adversity. With an established veteran you can imply a lot, with a rookie who has no track record in the league the only guys who truly have a clue are the coaches, which is why I said if Bill brings him in I'll obviously trust his judgement that Mac will handle it.Dunno. Then let's not assume that OBJ is an issue either. Or that OBJ could harm Macs psyche. After all, we can't go by what we hear guys are like. That's my point? Can’t imagine he cares much as long as he gets to showcase his skills and see upwards of 7-8 targets / game, which I think KC could accommodate. My guess is Kelce/Hill would see reductions since Mahomes would have a better option to throw to.Agree to disagree with OBJ being happy as option #3 in any passing game, but I absolutely may be wrong
I don't think the issue with OBJ is the impact on Mac mentally but I question if he is a fit for a Patriot system that relies on precision and pre-snap reads. All the reports out of CLE, which could be media driven to ease the loss, are that he is a free-lancer and just runs the route he wants to get open. That works much better in GB and KC where the QB likes to improvise much more so than it will in NE where defense often dictates the route based on alignment. Then again he will prob run the routes better than Harry but I think Harry is just a run blocker at this point of his Patriot career, don't think OBJ can run block like Harry can. Then let's not assume that OBJ is an issue either. Or that OBJ could harm Macs psyche. After all, we can't go by what we hear guys are like.
Let's lock the thread until he signs. Why give opinions?
He's from Louisiana.Anytime you have a chance to play with Trevor Siemian and Tayson Hill as a WR to up your value for your next contract, you have to take it
I count 5 there. Who’s the mystery team?!
That only five, JeffP ... so, there's a mystery team
