Not so curious case of Aaron Dobson

Does this tie in to Brady's talk today: "I understand what’s going on. I know probably a lot more information than you guys have."
Yea, there's gotta be more to this than a quick fuck you after a drill or something, because the punishment seems pretty extreme for "mouthing off." We'll probably never get the full story, and it wouldn't have made a difference in the outcome anyways, but if a guy coming off of an injury and trying to establish himself in the league is enough of a jerk off that he is getting benched for the way he talks to coaches during practice, we could be wading into the dreaded "coachability" territory which would be a death sentence in this organization.

Still rather odd given again that Hightower mouthed off to the press which is a big no-no and that typically things that happen behind closed doors stay behind closed doors. Make Dobson do extra reps or something as punishment but don't hurt the team for something that happens behind closed doors.
Then again with both Thompkins and Dobson not active this week I'm guessing this is more than just a benching for mouthing off. Perhaps they aren't progressing as expected.
Insubordination is and should be unacceptable. Without knowing any of the details beyond he "mouthed off" it's hard to really comment further. But, despite the on field impact (presuming there was one), I think this is an appropriate course of action.
Dobson could watch KC dominate that game from the sidelines just as easily as on the field.
None of this excuses the performance by the coaching staff and players in that game. Dobson is the least of their problems.

I got a little concerned when Dobson seemed to think that despite missing all of the off season work with the surgery he still thought he was completely up to speed from an execution standpoint and ready to go for the regular season. It seems there may be a disconnect with his opinion of himself and reality.
That's a helluva lot different than "mouthing off." Or, at least, seems to be different...it's hard to say given we don't really know what Dobson said. But DT's thing is inappropriate, but a pissed off player having a moment of honesty in the wake of a tough defeat is different than yelling at your coach during practice or whatever happened.

In his mailbag today Reiss seems to think there may be attitude issues, but the two healthy scratches are more performance-related.

A heated exchange between an assistant coach and a player probably happens way more often than we hear. What happens on the practice field usually stays on the practice field. So, if Dobson's inactive status was due to a disciplinary issue, it's probably a lot more than just a mouthed obscenity. Behavior, attitude, refusing to listen to a coach's instruction seem more probable.
Then again, given that Dobson was hurt all offseason and didn't get a whole of looks during preseason, it's more likely health/injury related. It's also possible Dobson was punished in some way, and missed the KC game due to injury anyway.

I'm assuming that the mouthing off included calling out McDaniel's for drafting Tebow and ESPN handed down the 2 game suspension.

I originally read, or misconstrued since in my mind, the quote as "he's created a lot of separation on that" thinking it was referring to competition at the position. It's clear he's talking about a specific play where he created physical separation.

I've seen firsthand that mouthing off to an assistant coach can get you suspended indefinitely or kicked off the team. So, yes it can definitely happen.
I thought the reason he was deactivated was so he wouldn't be able to cash in after the 2017 season? No?

Then we'll get the "Aaron has worked hard to come back from injury, it takes time to get acclimated, especially for a second year guy," etc. Dobson hasn't even been on the injury report, so I highly doubt we're going to see him get IR'd, and he certainly wouldn't say something like Tyms has taken over Dobson's role in a press conference.
