From being traded to being intentionally walked in a clinching game.

And they got to keep Wheeler too

Part of me hopes they blow this and Collins gets shit on for letting a closer have an at bat in the 9th inning. You know that spot is coming up potentially, wtf is he thinking with the 6-out save? Syndergaard only gets one inning? Head scratcher

He's lucky there's only a 1 run lead

Familia's not that stupid regardless

I'm not sure amping Familia up further is a good idea though, the times he's struggled have been the 'in with a big lead' kind of innings when he wasn't really energized

Familia almost quick-pitches and short arms the ball and he still hits 97. I want one of those for the Sox.

He also picked up a splitter this year... at like 95

To be fair, any position player in all of MLB would have been intentionally walked in that situation.

Maybe he understands that his closer is paid to prevent runs rather than drive them in, and preferred a guy with relief experience in the eighth to rolling the dice again with a guy whose last relief appearance before tonight was in A ball.

True, but it helps pad out his Lifetime movie :)
