The announcers are making the point, which generally means it's wrong, but in this case....how on earth do you expect to contain Reddick with a TE?

Except, in his 2nd year, Jalen Hurts threw for 3,100 yards, 16td's, 9 picks and had an 87.2 rating. He was even worse as a rookie. What changed? If you'd like, I can also point out their senior year numbers in college...Mac can throw just as well as Jalen. Just needs time, receivers who can catch the ball, and coaches who know how to design and call plays.
I’m not going to argue whether Mac can be Hurts (in terms of talent level). But I think it’s really hard to evaluate Alabama QBs (and other schools in year’s past). Does performance in college matter? These guys seem so hard to evaluate as prospects. I say this as a non-Pat’s fan who really liked the Mac pick and thinks he gets a raw deal because of the enormous expectations set by Belichick and Brady over the last 15+ years.

I would trade Mac for Hurts too, solely because of what he can do with this legs.

I'm just saying if Hurts played in the 2022 Pats offense, if he doesn't get hurt, his passing numbers probably look a lot like Mac's (or in other words, a lot like Hurts numbers did in 2021). A 2nd year under the Sirianni/Steichen tandem, adding AJ Brown which unlocked Smith and the running game and a fucking wrecking crew of an offensive line is what you do for young QB's.
He wouldn't play in the 2022 Pats offense, because if he was on the 2022 Pats the offense would be significantly different to take advantage of his running talent. Just like if Mac was on the 2022 Eagles they would play completely differently. Comparing top rushers at QB to Mac is dumb, they completely change both how you run your offense, AND how defenses play. Nobody would play against Hurts the way they do against Mac because they have to protect against QB runs, use a Spy and contain him with their rushers, Mac you don't do any of that, you just bring all the pressure you want, and/or flood zones in coverage because Mac running isn't something you worry about.

We pretty much agree. And I was being sarcastic about the Alabama O line. (But not the coaching)
Let's hope Billy O has the key to unlock Mac.

Did Bosa get hurt standing on the sideline, during the scuffle that led to the unnecessary roughness call?

Jesus.

You are going to see a LOT of these Jesus commercials. Reading somewhere this morning that they have dropped a ton of money on their ads for the Super Bowl.

Well, Mac certainly could’ve made that throw to Brown ;)
