“@darrenrovell: The @LVSuperBook has installed the Carolina Panthers as a 5.5 point favorite over the Broncos in Super Bowl 50”

This is required reading for you, sir:
I read that and was very impressed. I am not suggesting they will even the money or even close to it. But they are not going to ignore money pouring in for Denver either.

Stich noted, and it makes sense to me, that Vegas probably believe the right line for this afternoon's game was pick 'em or Den -1

Denver cannot guard that AND all the other things too. Cam is a game changer with his legs.

The 94 49ers were a truly great team and the 94 Chargers were big underdogs to win the AFC on the road at the Steelers.
I was a big bandwagon fan of the Montana and Young 49ers. The Pats were bad for a lot of those years, so what the hell. Some people were still concerned going into the super bowl about Steve getting too fired up and screw up, but six touchdown passes calmed everybody down.

As dominant as they were DEN didn't really have to defend much outside the numbers today and the Pats running game was extremely vanilla. You saw in the PIT-DEN game that a good o-line can open holes against Denver. Carolina makes you defend the whole field and they are constantly running misdirection out of what seems like 50 different formations.

I couldn't figure this one out. I tried to do the math...a 1-point extra kick makes it a 26-point game, still a four possession game. Is there a benefit to a 27-point lead at this point I'm missing?

Give the Vegas bookies their due. They apparently had about five times as much money come in on the Pats as on the Broncs, yet they kept that line at Pats -3 (and to be captain obvious, a push would not have been far-fetched if the game had gone to OT). I would have had that one as a pick 'em. I strongly suspect that they will go the same route with a Denver-Carolina match up, no matter how much Denver money floods in.

If NE would have been gimpy into this game (OL fucked, Edelman back to not 100%), no chance. Let DEN be slaughtered

Feeling like 2013 again. Even if the Pats had won, think they would have lost by a couple scores. Manning may get throttled again.

I don't understand the hate. I hope Cam spends 4 quarters dancing all over the Broncos.
They are underestimated in BBTL. Look at the predictions thread. 35 Ari 19 Car. For a game in Car. Which win by 34 points.

The rationale was always the same, the schedule. But the Pats played a weak schedule too.
