Well Bridges is a rookie who is shooting 36% from three. Dunn is 25 years old and hasn't been anywhere near healthy in his 3 years in the league. If anything, I would think CHI would be the team to throw in a pick to complete that deal. How much value does Bridges and a 2nd rounder have? Maybe I'm not as high on Bridges as others.
Ellington would be a great addition to the Celtics' bench. They need some quality outside shooting.Pretty brilliant move by Miami. They go from nearly $7m over the tax to $1m and one minor move from not paying it at all. In addition they save another $5m+ next year since Anderson agreed to reduce a portion of his 19-20 guarantee to get out of Houston last year.
I have a sneaky suspicion Ellington is going to wind up in Philly after his release.
He would be a great addition to just about every playoffs team bench. Curious where he ends upEllington would be a great addition to the Celtics' bench. They need some quality outside shooting.
“Where would we play him?” - Lou Gorman (and HRB)Ellington would be a great addition to the Celtics' bench. They need some quality outside shooting.
A big, or a cheap Lou Williams type who can nail three-point shots and gin up some offense for the second unit when it can't buy a bucket (not so much a problem lately, but ...).Yeah I will be shocked if the C's add anything other than, maybe, another big for their stretch run.
No chance. Any moves the Lakers make will be minor without jeopardizing their pursuit of AD while maybe even acquiring an asset (draft pick?) that they could utilize in that pursuit.Windhorst expecting a dozen trades between now and tomorrow.
I wonder if the Lakers will throw in the AD towel and go to Plan B
I was going to ask the opposite: Why did Washington do that? I know that other teams, such as Sacramento, Portland and Utah supposedly had conversations about Porter. Even with that contract I feel that they could have gotten back one decent asset. Why did Chicago do that?
Cool, I hope they continue with their AD delusions. If it's not happening now, it's not happening this Summer. No chance. Any moves the Lakers make will be minor without jeopardizing their pursuit of AD while maybe even acquiring an asset (draft pick?) that they could utilize in that pursuit.
They did it for all the cap relief. And probably, but who would want Jabari?I was going to ask the opposite: Why did Washington do that? I know that other teams, such as Sacramento, Portland and Dallas supposedly had conversations about Porter. Even with that contract I feel that they could have gotten back one decent asset.
Is Jabari a buyout candidate?
No, they'll mostly likely keep their assets and make one last push for AD this summer. I guess there is a small possibility that they spin a smaller package of assets for someone like Bradley Beal now and then go all in on someone like Kawhi this summer, but that seems like too nebulous a plan for a deadline deal.Windhorst expecting a dozen trades between now and tomorrow.

The Bulls maintain Parker’s salary slot while adding a better player than Portis who is locked up for a few years while the latter will be looking to get paid. I suppose in a sense Portis is a poor mans version of that Ingram/Jaylen/Porter type player who is looking to get paid. The Bulls wanted to shake things up and this is the first brick to fallWhy did Chicago do that?
Plus they get 80% of Wall’s salary back once he hits the 41-game mark from insurance. They have to finally be in full tank mode now so Beal is next to go either now or this summer. I said it yesterday and I’ll double down on it.....the Wall injury is the best thing that could happen to this franchise.Wizards save $28 million next year with the move. So salary relief.
Nice move for Cleveland. Take on Knight’s contract for a pick in the low 20s.Houston, Sacramento, Cleveland complete a 3 team deal.
Houston: Iman Shumpert
Sacramento: Alec Burks
Cleveland: Brandon Knight, Marquess Chriss, Houston lottery protected 2019 1st
Isn't it usually just a bunch of rumors and no actual deals? This is crazy.Such a great trade deadline so far. So many odd and interesting and seemingly out of the blue deals
Plus the AD circus is taking up all the oxygen, it’s easier for the other deals to fly below everyone’s radar.Isn't it usually just a bunch of rumors and no actual deals? This is crazy.
It is great though. "Team A looking to trade Player X" 30 seconds later, Player X traded to Team B.
Deal makes a ton of sense for Houston too. They are adding Shumpert who can actually produce for them while avoiding being locked into a taxed rookie contract for a likely non-contributor,Nice move for Cleveland. Take on Knight’s contract for a pick in the low 20s.
This really is an awesome afternoon for NBA junkies and supposedly is only going to get better.Such a great trade deadline so far. So many odd and interesting and seemingly out of the blue deals
No love for Nik Stauskas?Deal makes a ton of sense for Houston too. They are adding Shumpert who can actually produce for them while avoiding being locked into a taxed rookie contract for a likely non-contributor,
Enes Cancer...er Kanter. I wonder where he winds up. I mean, he is a big...Woj reporting that Kanter and the Knicks are negotiating a buyout. So add his name to Ellington and (of course) Melo.
I have never been a Stauskas guy at all.No love for Nik Stauskas?
His trade to Cleveland must have stung but now he has a chance to come in for the Rockets and hit a few big threes during their playoff run. I know he is a pretty bad shooter from deep but I feel like he will end up shooting towards 40% as he fights his way into the Rockets rotation.
And agree with others. These trades are fascinating and make a lot of sense for all the teams involved. I love the Washington trade for them.
Lets be honest here. Do any Nik Stauskas guys exist after he and Vivek Ranadive broke up?I have never been a Stauskas guy at all.
Kevin O'Connor said that they may be trying to flip Shumpert on to the Pelicans in a Mirotic deal. That would be a huge get for Houston if they can pull it off.Deal makes a ton of sense for Houston too. Would basically give them what Ryan Anderson was supposed to give them. Would be such a natural fit.Kevin O'Connor said that they may be trying to flip Shumpert on to the Pelicans in a Mirotic deal. That would be a huge get for Houston if they can pull it off.
What would the Pelicans be able to get out of Mirotic? Max cash considerations, a 2nd rounder, and maybe Danuel House? Then Shumpert gets bought out and hits the FA market for more fun!! I love this deadline!!!!Kevin O'Connor said that they may be trying to flip Shumpert on to the Pelicans in a Mirotic deal. That would be a huge get for Houston if they can pull it off.
About that. Randle's on the block too. He'd help the Rockets too if they wanted to expand the deal. What would the Pelicans be able to get out of Mirotic? Max cash considerations, a 2nd rounder, and maybe Danuel House? Then Shumpert gets bought out and hits the FA market for more fun!! I love this deadline!!!!
His theory was Shumpert plus a 1st in 2021 or 2022. Actually I guess it was Sean Deveneys idea. What would the Pelicans be able to get out of Mirotic? This makes sense too. Similar to above with the Rockets not wanting to tie up additional tax dollars in a multi-year rookie deal. His theory was Shumpert plus a 1st in 2021 or 2022. Actually I guess it was Sean Deveneys idea.
Oh it actually may be. Barnes is going to mess up Sacramento's flow. Vlade...what are you doing? Not good for the Sacto pick.
