I was watching the fourth-quarter with a buddy who said another of our friends might pressure him into going to game five. Pulled up the Ticketmaster listing and the cheapest balcony was 1600 before fees. However, some sap who was crying in his beer, most likely, still had a pair of loge 9 for 1200. My buddy no longer felt any pressure lol.
In late March of 2022, I attended my second game with the whole family (wife and 2 daughters) in the sports deck courtesy of
@tonyandpals. After two vodka tonics , my wife remarked that we should go to more games. I said that we could get on the season ticket waiting list for $100 a seat. She said we should do it and I immediately cut off conversation. The next morning at work, I got on the waiting list thinking I would get a call within a year or two. Three days later, I got a call not only for seats the following year but full playoffs starting in two weeks. We settled on a pair and have been, in some capacity, to 80% of the last three playoff runs and 50% of the regular season games, despite living 2 hours from Boston.
Every game is a treat because I get to spend the entire drive down having a one on one conversation with one of my favorite people, including the 13-year-old who doesn’t have much time for me otherwise (whoever I’m with usually sleeps the whole way home).
I got to attend game six against Golden State and game seven against Miami last year, but I also got to see several closeouts and got to hear about Brooklyn game one and Philly game seven from my wife and daughter. After last night I was prepared to draw straws, but my wife told me this morning that I should go. I had some friends today, begging me to list them for an absurd number, but I can’t think of anything more exciting than heading down Monday night with whichever kid wins the coin flip.
LFG.
