MLBAM will take over NHL's web ops, apps, streaming video starting in 2016

I think this is good news. I subscribe to both NHL Gamecenter and MLB.tv and my experience is that MLB's service is far more stable than the NHL's.

As far as streaming stuff is concerned, MLBAM is the bee's pajamas.  In addition to their own events, they've run streaming for March Madness, the World Cup, the WatchESPN app, and a whole bunch of other stuff.  MLB's technological infrastructure is head and shoulders above everyone else.
 
(Aside: Technological supremacy is one of the great legacies of Bud Selig's tenure - I mentioned all of this in an article here.)

Thank god. NHL Gamecenter is an unmitigated disaster of constant buffering. MLBtv on the other hand works flawlessly 99% of the time.

I'm looking forward to seeing the velocity and spin on Zdeno's 2-seamer.  Also Torey Krug's route efficiency when going back to retrieve a dump in.
