His physical traits have also declined because his footwork and technique are so bad. So he's underperformed mentally, which has reduced an already narrow path to be being a starter because of his limited athletic skillset. It's not like Cousins has so many more physical tools. But he stands in the pocket and delivers the ball with a solid base and footwork. He's getting the most out of his tools. Mac is not. And that doesn't look fixablebased on his play the last two years.
This for me was the strangest part of the whole Mac experience. The most obvious thing in the world for him to do was improve his mechanics, yet he regressed.

That ended up being a mild to moderate ankle sprain, right?
I believe it was a high ankle sprain and that he refused the tightrope surgery. And while some people point to the second half of his rookie year, I always remember that injury and his immediate reaction to it when I think of his subsequent panic under pressure and difficulty stepping into throws.

I think it was the ankle sprain combined with Zappe winning games in his absence that really sent Mac into a career death special. He simply couldn’t handle pressure on or off the field.

Mac clearly did not read or listen to the culture signs for his daily exits in Foxboro. Ignore the hype. Do your job. Block SJH. All very important.
Wait...you can still block SJH? I cannot due to his Dope status.

Mac in Jax might lead to more Mac in my life as Lawrence is my keeper league QB…

Mac Jones feels comfortable telling the world he is a rapper because "he's not in New England."

"I don't really have too many [hobbies], but I mean, I golf a little bit, I like to go fishing, like to be on the beach. I like to do a little bit of rapping," a smiling Jones said before bursting out laughing. "I do though, I do. I've got a couple of songs. Nobody knows about it. So I'm letting the world know now I'm not in New England."
He could have saved us a lot of grief had he focused on his rap career instead of football.

For a guy who had a 4.00 in Communications as an undergrad and a 4.00 in a Masters program in Sports Hospitality, he certainly communicates poorly.

Anyone remember Dave Stapleton, the Red Sox utility infielder? One of his claims to fame was seeing his batting average decline every year he was in the league.

1980: .321
1981: .285
1982: .264
1983: .247
1984: .231
1985: .227
1986: .128

Was thinking about him today when I looked at Mac's QB rating and QBR:

2021: 92.5, 56.9
2022: 84.8, 38.4
2023: 77.0, 36.7
2024: 51.9, 17.8

That pattern holds for completion percentage, yards, TDs, TD%, INT%, yards per attempt, yards per completion, adjusted net yards per attempt, etc.

I lost a six-leg parlay yesterday only because I had the temerity to include the Titans over the Mac-led Jaguars on the money line.

That bastard.

He has no right stepping onto NFL fields. It’s a bad look not only for the Jags but for the league. He couldn’t backup Johnny Foxboro.
