I don't know a lot about this stuff. Basically looking for something in the $200 - $300 range. Would like something 31" or greater with 160+ refresh rate, and preferably 2 HDMI ports. There seem to be a few on Amazon in this range with these specs, but they seem pretty similar to me.

this is outside the price range but it’s a hell of a deal.

Do you think the 120 hz refresh rate is fast enough?

Some of them seem to talk about the higher refresh rate being possible through overclocking, so are those specs a bit “fake”, meaning the average person wouldn’t be getting a 200 hz refresh rate unless they were doing something to achieve that? I also noticed on one of them that the different HDMI ports were rated for different refresh rates.
Basically, I’d be using the monitor for both PC gaming and X box gaming.

That's actually a really good point and I was negligent in figuring out before posting. The short answer is I don't know. It's 100% fine for my but I am not a nuanced gamer. I have games, but frankly don't really notice quality all that much. I have a Nvidia 1080 which is generally way more than I need for most games that I play.

I'm confused on the $179 option vs. the $259 option.
Here are 4 other options. View: https://www.amazon.com/Sceptre-FreeSync-Speakers-Displayport-C325B-FWD240/dp/B08VM9JN7H/

I'm not an expert on this, I'm most interested in the resolution and refresh rate. For a good gaming monitor, I've always figured >150Hz, full HD, and <5 ms, then it comes down to size and reviews but others surely have better thoughts.

FWIW, I ended up buying this Acer: https://www.costco.com/acer-31.5”-class-wqhd-curved-gaming-monitor.product.4000175991.html
but a manufacturer refurbished: https://www.target.com/p/acer-ei322qur-32-monitor-fullhd-1920x1080-ips-1ms-400nit-hdmi-displayport-manufacturer-refurbished/-/A-90175579?preselect=90175579

Even the PS5 and XB1 consoles only produce peak 120hz so believe it’s only higher end (edit -PCs running newer games at the highest performance settings) that exceed 120hz refresh rate.

I haven’t been a PC gamer for a bit though, so ready to be wrong here.
