Yeah, sorry. That tweet should read "Liverpool are the first club to spend over a billion pounds without winning the league since Milli Vanilli was winning Grammys."Because we all know football was invented in 1992.
Seeing Duckenfield and Bettison charged and properly brought to trial was once a pipe dream to anyone not involved with HFSG. For HFSG, it was basically their mission statement. I will say, the 30 For 30 about the disaster paints Duckenfield more as a bookish incompetent that had no idea how an FA Cup match should be handled, while Bettison is pure evil for the scheme to alter statements.British prosecutors charge 6 people in deadly 1989 stadium disaster
LONDON (AP) — British prosecutors charged six people Wednesday in the 1989 Hillsborough stadium disaster where 96 soccer fans were crushed to death.
Those charged include the police commander on the day, David Duckenfield, who is accused of gross negligence manslaughter. The former chief of South Yorkshire Police, Norman Bettision, is charged with misconduct in public office for lying about the disaster and its aftermath.
The attorney for the South Yorkshire Police was charged with acting ‘‘with intent to pervert the course of public justice’’ relating to changes in witness statements during an inquiry into the tragedy.
‘‘Criminal proceedings have now commenced and the defendants have a right to a fair trial,’’ said Sue Hemming, the head prosecutor for special crime and counter terror.

Ever since the Liverpool / VVD fiasco a few weeks ago there have been many columnists who have suggested that VVD would have to kick up a stink in order to get the deal back on track. This would appear to be the beginning of that process. If it's to be believed. But the story was in the Echo as well .. so I don't think it's just papers making up stuff. When it comes to transfer news and rumors, I don’t believe a thing I’ve read until the teams announce it. There doesn’t seem to be any standards or oversight for what gets published over there. It’s more of a matter of throwing every name to every team and then taking credit for the one or two that actually happen (out of the hundred “announced”).
Wrong colors and crest, obviously, but maybe this helps?http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/virgil-van-dijk-told-southampton-10761788
How reliable is the Mirror?
It's simply another recruiting tactic for VVD.Apparently we're trying to look like Holland with the 3rd kit.
Actually, teams in European competition (Champions League or Europa League) are required to have a 3rd kit. I too am wondering if Orange is too close to red. How many instances are there where the red would be unsuitable but the orange would be fine, maybe vs Stoke?I assume the 3rd kit is all about shirt sales these days, and New Balance seems to marking out neon as a trademark design element. I'm sure we will look back on these as classics some day...
Lots of transfer rumors these days, not so much activity. Earlier this summer Klopp was insisting that he wanted business wrapped up before the preseason started, but only one move looks imminent - Andrew Robertson from Hull. At a rumored £8m, I'm a fan. He's only 22, but with 15 international caps and 169 senior appearances across Queens Park, Dundee, and Hull. He's a nice mix between known quantity and upside. Not a major splash, but a very solid signing at a position of need.
Keita? VVD? Other midfielders or CBs? Who knows right now. This is going to drag out for a while....
Obviously, it's the same color as the traffic cones in Rome in 1977.Is there any reason for this color? I mean if you play a team like Arsenal, Manchester United with red shirt, white pants, I see a reason for not picking the red dress. Then you probably go with the away dress, alright. So why that 3rd kit and not something else?
The old neon dress at least offered an alternative (to those teams playing in red/red or red/white), but those orange dresses look very close to the red, not to the usual eye-test, but so that refs would say "not possible to play United in red and Liverpool in orange". I like weird shirts and therefore love weird 3rd kits. A purple, pink, yellow, color-bridging (like the 3rd Inter/Barca Nike shirts), etc. are perfect for such "experiments", IMO.
The Sturridge hat trick. Still out there and looks ok for those not watching. In another words, he'll be out for 4-6 weeks. Is there a more Sturridge sequence than being in alone, chipping the keeper beautifully, then pulling up with a strained quad?
They are--no joke--more likely to win the CL than the EPL this year for precisely this reason. They need another plan for the Huddersfields. It's fun to watch, but ultimately as predictive of success as pummeling Barca in preseason was last year.
We already know they can score against teams that are trying to attack as well, the key question is what they can do against the sides with 10 behind the ball.
Who knew that Germans had a sense of humor?
Forget that, who knew that Liverpool fans had a sense of humor? They are--no joke--more likely to win the CL than the EPL this year for precisely this reason. They need another plan for the Huddersfields.
He only played 45 minutes yesterday, so Klopp said he would get 45 minutes today. Why on earth is Mané playing matches in back to back days - just back to full training - with Kent/Ejaria on the bench?
