You have a good chance of winning the title right now while still having a future! The Celtics were a bad fourth quarter away from being up 3-1 in the NBA Finals just two weeks ago!

Miami definitely moves Bam and probably Herro, too.

Nets can’t take Bam in the trade unless they also move Simmons because they both have Rose Rule extensions.

Jaylen is only signed for 2 more years. There is exposure there. And if you replaced Jaylen with Durant this year, you are planning Green 19 right now.

Durant is significantly better than Jaylen on both sides of the ball. It would be a no brainer, IMO. He and Tatum would be absolutely lethal.

It would have to be a bet against the Heat post Riley, KD and Jimmy. Lowry would be in the deal as salary filler. Herro, Strus and all the picks as the assets? The Suns can definitely beat it.

I'm going to take a guess that it's less that Durant doesn't want to play with Kyrie as much as the Nets refusing to offer Kyrie the max extension.

Eh. The league is kind of moving past Durant, who is aging out of his prime and was not good in the playoffs this year. I think the gap between Jaylen + future assets vs Durant now is not as big as maybe some other people think; and the Celtics will be a much more enjoyable success if they win with Jaylen and Tatum. I also don't know if Durant/Tatum is as dynamic of a pairing as people will think; seems like they'd squabble over being the alpha.

Yeah this to me is a case of knowing Kyrie is gone after the year and not wanting to waste a season

Durant is so unlikeable at this point, and for someone as good as he is, couldn't manage to steal a game against the Celtics in the playoffs. No way do I want to see him in green, and especially not at the cost of Jaylen. I think Durant would wilt under the spotlight here at the first moment of (perceived) criticism. We'd be more likely to see a second-round exit than a banner, but fortunately I don't think we're a realistic option.

Pass on Durant for Boston. I don't even mind his weirdo persona but that window (which should have happened years ago) is closed. Add more pieces to the Jays.
I do think Durant to Phoenix makes sense. The physical trainers there will be good for him as well.

Brooklyn probably demands Smart or Rob but without giving either two, I think this is the best the Celtics could do but I don't think it would be enough. Only two firsts available due to the SA trade.

I also don't think Brooklyn would want White since he costs $18m and is tied up for three years.

Fanspo is wrong here. They have the 2028 as a pick but it's a swap. The Celtics can offer 2023/2025/2027 and both 2024/2026 swaps. Grant and PP probably are part of the best possible deal but the Celtics would probably use Theis instead. Don't see how many other teams beat Jaylen in the offer anyways.

Philly doesn’t seem at all realistic in terms of assets to give back. So, let’s say Boston offers Jaylen, Grant, White, etc. Which team(s) can beat that to appease the Nets, who would also be willing? Maybe Ayton plus is close enough for them? Booker would be, but I doubt Phoenix does that, unless maybe it convinces Ayton to stay. Who else? Would Minnesota want to give up KAT? Don’t think that makes sense for them, timing-wise.
