I like how Monaco can interact with Youk without seeming like a smarmy-ass-kisser who might push for a verbal one-up if he can grab it. Just warm, relaxed and amused.
They are the best announcing team. If NESN doesn't promote Monaco we're gonna lose him to another MLB team.

Miami (oh, Miami!)
How deep in the game do we think Cutter goes? And how many runs would you accept for any inning above 6?

I'd take 2 runs in exchange for finishing the 7th.

If he gets through the 6th, I'd pull him in the 7th if there's more runners/runs than outs.

I'd seriously lock him up. He's not only good with play by play, he makes all his color people better.

For example, he seems to bring out the hidden pitching coach in Youk.

If Crawford can become a solid 4th starter that solves a lot of issues with this roster.

He can both get Youk to talk about baseball interestingly and also joke casually on a tangent without making it just ABOUT the tangent.

Would he be able to do that if he wasn't just dropping in once in awhile. Eventually, they need *some* personal chemistry.

This has been a decent start for KC.
I was worried early. Now, not.

Oh, I think they have that too. Like the sweatband bit - it was just there and relaxed and not pushy. If it were DOB with mullet-man and the sweatband bit, you'd hear DOB relentlessly push it, like it could be the new Pizza-fling, and refer to it at least twice more in later innings. And Youk would (understandably) respond to that kind of clowning-around tone. And drift into being hyper verbal.

And here we go with the Monaco low key interaction with Youk - he just lets it happen.

Sure would and I'm pretty shocked this ("solid starter") is even a conversation. I don't remember him ever being ranked especially high as a prospect coming up and assumed he'd be a AAAA guy

He’s missed a few too many games with little knocks, but Masa actually might get close to 200 hits.

So, Bernardino was warming, but he's too good to waste on a 9-run lead? (perhaps the guys explained, but I was reading something and faded out a bit)
I think that’s essentially it. Once the lead ballooned a bit more, no reason to waste anyone good with bullpen games 40% of the time

Bernardino was probably up in case Crawford ran into trouble in the 6th, as a true stopper. Winckowski was warming before Masa batted, but once they got a 9 run lead they moved to the low leverage guy.

So, yes, to your question, I guess.
