Is his agent Master P? Yikes. But good for us.View: https://twitter.com/MikeGarafolo/status/1767635962199253273

This makes me laugh because it's a great example of how people can watch the NFL yet have no idea how it works... DL rotate A TON you need 4 edge players who can give you significant snaps every game.
Kinda reminds me of Banta-Cain in that sense. Not particularly good but can get some pressures and rack up some sacks against trash teams or if there’s a better guy (Judon) drawing attention from the extra blockersI am not really a fan of Uche - I think he's average and seemed to get a lot of sacks in bunches (ie one game with 3 sacks and then nothing for the next 4 games). That said, for that contract I am perfectly happy to have him back. I am blown away he left more money on the table and my gut is that he really likes Mayo and/or Mayo is going to implement a more aggressive defense that will let Uche rack up more sacks.
Yeah, but TBC wasn't horrible when setting the edge. He was pretty responsible against the run outside. Uche can get caught up field, so he's most useful as a situational pass rusher.Kinda reminds me of Banta-Cain in that sense. multiple years is my guess. He likes Mayo, was told he'd see more snaps and thinks that if he puts up a year like 2022 he'll go into FA as one of the top pass rushers at age 26 and get the kind of contract Huff just got.I'm curious about that "had much more on the table elsewhere" part. I find it kind of hard to believe. Maybe he's comfortable here, I'm sure he loves Mayo and Covington, but it's not like NE, as currently constructed, is some preferred destination. This is one of the lesser orgs at the moment. Why would he leave money on the table - let alone "much more" - to come back here? So he doesn't lose his deposit on the condo?
When you’re looking at 3M guaranteed, 5M is much more, regardless of the smallish cap impact.I'm curious about that "had much more on the table elsewhere" part.
This would probably be the first time he actually set the edge.View: https://twitter.com/MikeGarafolo/status/1767635962199253273

If I were his agent, I’d destroy every fax machine within 100 miles of the Uche residence to prevent him from signing this deal. What a tremendous bit of business by the Patriots.IDK but at this stage of his career turning down $11M for $3M doesn't seem very smart. Glad to have him at that price, but it seems crazy to me that he would do that.
That has to be what the situation was. Uche fell off hugely without Judon drawing doubles last year. He would’ve commanded a much better deal if he had gone to FA after 2022.View: https://twitter.com/DougKyed/status/1767727874700620274
So looks like $4M if he's rostered all year, then various bonuses that could take him to I guess 6 or 7M, then the last is pro-bowl.
Basically a bet on himself that he'll have a bounceback year... which if he does he'll easily clear 11M over the 2 years, but of course injury downside.
