All the best to John Farrell. We all should have friends like Tito.

Somewhat surreal as I am typing this from DF as my dad gets ready for his first day of six weeks of radiation.

The gran facenda
Lisa Carney has an excellent take on this on the .com today.

Sports are a distraction from “real” life, and that’s a good thing. They have been there in times of war, natural disasters and even cataclysmic events that triggered national mourning. But every now and then the reality of sports ‒ that it’s human beings who bring them to life ‒ hits us square in the chops, and that’s not always a bad thing for us to experience.

I hope everyone heard the story Francona told during a broadcast with Lovullo on WEEI on Wednesday.
He said he was talking to Kluber in the dugout, during the game on Tuesday, really just elaborating on Farrell's
personality, what a wonderful friend he is and how he was not surprised in the least that so many people in baseball pulling for him.
As the game went on, Kluber took it upon himself to pass the hat in the Indians dugout so that Francona could come
on the air the next day during the Jimmy Fund broadcast and present a gift from them, in John Farrell's name.

This is so phenomenal.  What a genuinely good person Tito is.

Damn, but Henry never should have let him go.
