It's funny that Jets fans are focused on this, and not the 32-yard DPI call in the last minute of the first half, which a lot of officials wouldn't have called and led directly to 3 points for the Pats. (A no-call would have brought up 4th down, and a Pats punt.)

The officiating was bad all around, and a majority of the bad calls went against NE, but that one was a back-breaker.

Yet all the media is talking about is an instance where the official actually did his job correctly.

Unreal America
It appears to me that Hightower was bouncing to the side not because the ref touched him, but because that was part of his motion of making the call to move the line to the inside.

It wasn't bad enough that I had to listen to my Bills fan friends bitch all week about all the bad calls that cost them the game last Sunday, not I gotta listen to Jets fans bitch about this for another week.  Ugh.

Here
Most refs call that PI because the defender didn't play the ball. If you're not playing the ball, any smidgen of contact is technically PI. Stupid rule, but it's the rule. We had the chance to learn a lot about it between 2008 and 2011. I'm also not sure how that's a back-breaker, yet the 3 BS penalties on third downs and the bad spot on 3rd down weren't. At least 2 of those drives, which ended in points, would have been punts.

Oh well, this is what happens when Peyton Manning loses playoff games.
