It’s gotta be a lonely feeling on the mound when you have absolutely no idea where the ball’s going but you have to keep throwing it.

Bloom is probably itching to bring in his own guy tbh. He had no choice but to bring in the WS winner by popular demand after the suspension even though a folding chair could have managed that team to 100 wins.

I have liked Cora fine but what is he adding at this point that some fresh blood couldn’t?

Payback for the 17-1 smack down last week.

Who will be the position player to pitch for Boston?

Sale can’t go 6. Story and Devers can’t get a big hit.

Bear Claw had a job to do. He should pitch until they are down enough for a position player.

Will they name Varitek the manager this week or wait until the week after the World Series?
If I had a guess, I'd say that if he fires Cora after the season, Bloom will clean house completely on the coaching staff

Eventually Barraclough is going to be like that kid in 2007 that we hit four homers back to back against. Never saw him again in the majors.

Schreiber threw 46 pitches Friday-Saturday. So maybe available but not a guy you are warning up in the 6th.

Winckowski seems like he should have been available. But, maybe he’s not.
Probably available, but he's also been pretty much a 1 inning guy for awhile now. So even if Jansen Martin and Winck all throw 1 inning without issue someone else was going to have to pitch.

You grow up wanting to be a major league pitcher. You get the chance and it doesn't go well. Then, one day, you wind up as pawn in game of life

Why, though? Haven’t we been saying for months that this team has exceeded expectations? But now the manager should be canned?

Sure, but he didn't give the team any chance tonight, when they still had a gut shot chance at it. Barring any extenuating circumstances, it's hard to defend.

If the front office said lol no one is available, then sure whatever.

I think we should relax on the exceeed expectations front. This team has a very tough schedule, a weary pen and starters that can’t go 5 innings. A 9-24 finish isn’t out of the realm.
