Truth: I was probably 15-20% worried going in to this and not really comfortable until I saw Kyrie randomly hugging Celtics players with 2:30 minutes left in the game.

I never got nervous heading into the game, but I was antsy as all hell lol.

I’ve known this has been coming all season, and it still feels surreal.

It's wild that I didnt really breathe normally until I saw that either. I mean in retrospect it was over earlier, Dallas didnt have the legs to mount that comeback once Tatum put them up 22 after the and 1 with about 8 to go, or maybe even earlier.
Heading into the game I realized I wasnt even nervous about game 5 so much as HOW NERVOUS I WOULD BE for game 6 if it went there. that's where all my nervous energy was focused. Sports do weird things to us.

The Celts had a pretty bad 3rd quarter and Dallas cut into the lead by 2 points... At that point I figured there was no way they were going to come back from down 19.. even if the irrational side of me didn't really think it was basically over until there was about 6:30 left and Dallas wasn't putting up any kind of a run.

Dallas was totally gassed. They missed about 10 good looks to cut into the lead while the Celtics missed bunnies for about a 10 minute stretch from the mid 3rd through the early 4th, and at that point I figured it was over.

I am really concerned about how they haven't won a single game 6 this post season. How will they perform with their backs to the wall?!?
Funny people were worried about the Cs in crunch time. Well one way of dealing with any crunch time issues is to not play any crunch time minutes. Cs didn't go quite that far but they only had 24 crunch time minutes the entire playoffs.

I'll also note for those who were worried about the Cs and crunch time, the Cs had by far the highest NRtg in crunch time in the playoffs: +46.9 (their ORtg of 126.9 was fourth; their DRtg of 80.0 was second - NOP was #1 at 64.3 DRtg over 6 minutes in two games (and NOP won both games)).

What's dumb is all year, they have a flukey loss and I have been totally confident they would come back. For whatever reason, that Game 4 loss made me think that they would tense up and go back to bad habits. There was no reason to think this, and yet I did. So happy they came out in Game 5 and just absolutely took care of business. I am not sure the game was in doubt after the first quarter.

Equally dumb.. I'd get mildly pissed/worried when they'd let leads go below 20 or even down to 9.

It really is funny. When the 2008 team would get up like 5-6, I would be like “yup, ovah”. With this team, I would worry about 18 point leads. Different games and all that but not really rational.

I barely ever watch any basketball anymore. I haven't watched any of the post-season. Except I watched the game Friday night. Of course you all know that it was my fault that they got smoked in that game. So with that in mind, I never even turned on the TV last night.

You are all welcome.

Also, this was largely media, but the whole “Celtics can’t win at home in the playoffs” thing. Well, it was a different team, and this one just finished 9-2 in the playoffs and one loss Miami shot 693% from 3 in high volume.
