Unfortunately they've had too much practice lately dealing with these situations. Sports Hub does a great job dealing with these and throwing it to WBZ-TV / Radio when appropriate then keeping the discussion rather rational.

They were....spoils of the Spanish- American War, as was Guam and Puerto Rico. But I guess Gresh never heard of Ferdinand and Imelda Marcos.

Of course, anytime you take Gresh out of the equation, it's an unquestionable upgrade.

That's what the URI offensive line coach said, too.
Somehow missed this over the holidays, but Sports Hub co-host Andy Gresh had his option picked up a few weeks ago. Ratings for the Sports Hub’s midday program continue to grow.

Disappointing to me as I feel Gresh is the biggest idjit in the Boston media. I guess I can continue not listening to the mid day show on Sports Hub.

I saw that too in the Finn piece. Gresh sucks. I can't stand him. But obviously somebody likes him. It's a puzzlement to me.

Did you play the game?

( . ) ( . ) and (_!_) said:Around 11am-ish Gresh and Zolak had a 15 minute or so discussion about Brandon Spikes. Gresh's voice was grating and too loud, but the discussion was detailed about how and why Spike's skill set isn't a fit for this year's iteration of the Patriots and how the Patriots could specifically attack Spikes and take advantage of him during Sunday's game.
It was a rational, fact based, informative discussion about football Xs and Os.
For all the crap we give our local radio hosts (and it is mostly well deserved) I thought it fair to point out that actual football discussion can happen on the radio. It would obviously be impossible to fill a 4 hour block with that type of discussion, but at least for that short spurt it was football discussion on the radio that was actually worth listening to.

Heard that...it was quite good. Gresh does know football, when he isn't trying too hard to convince the listener he knows football by using terms like "zero set" incessantly. And Zolak really can add excellent analysis...when he's not bouncing off the walls from too much Red Bull.
Of course, it was preceded by a segment where Zolak made fun of Vollmer & Soderberg's accents that was, shall we say, less than enlightened.
John Marzano Olympic Hero said:I have to give credit where it's due, Gresh hasn't been so bad during football season this year. He actually is enjoyable to listen to most times, especially when he's not bro-ing it up.
And I was really impressed with the yeoman's work that he did on Saturday. I'm pretty sure he called five or six straight high school football games on TV and the radio. That's pretty hard, I would imagine. Good job, Gresh.
