The illegal formation penalty on Bourne was in the second quarter. In the first quarter Bourne went in motion across the line, didn’t stop and took off early for a false start. The first two penalties of the game on the Patriots were on Bourne.

If you don’t want to get chewed out by the coach after that maybe find another team.
I think the issue on the illegal formation was his early start or for the way he rounded it off. Almost looked like an arena football league move to me.

Picking nits- but the first one was that he was moving forward before the snap. I can "get" that one- as it is really a timing play. If you are used to "set hut....HUT" and it ends up being "set hut...........HUT" -- the different cadence with Zappe could have led to it.

Dangit @Saints Rest. Twice now you've answered as I have!

I know I’ve been beating this drum in game threads lately but I’m really impressed with Cole Strange. Kid has multiple time all pro ability. He’s a mauler in the run game and has been a rock in pass protection too. What a find.
I mean am I crazy or does Strange look wayyyy better than Shaq Mason last year? The rap on Strange ended up being why draft a guard at that point in the draft. Evan Lazar had an analysis on positional value. I am still not onboard with all the advanced statistics. Maybe I just dont know football, but Strange looks like he's having a large impact.

Yeah, I've seen a lot of Thuney-level blocking so far this season already. He's going to be very good for a long time.
