Ullmark was visibly not right for several games. Giving Swayman the nod up 3-1 made all the sense in the world. I'm sorry, but that's why we're here now.

Up 3-1 with 2 home games and they choke. I’m sorry for the diehards here. Just an epic, yet, predictable collapse. For shame.

You can’t fire Montgomery but he coached a terrible series
Sure you can. From January on, this team’s goal shifted. Just about every mathematical model didn’t just have them as favourites in this series, but dangerously close to a favourite for the Cup over the field. At no point in the last 200 minutes of hockey did it look like the best team in NHL history (TM) were actually better.
Thank him for the useless new addition to the white banner and send him on his way.

Panthers so good playing from behind the net. Bruins got caught in no man’s land all series. Wouldn’t commit to going into the corners to check, but wouldn’t cover the guys in front of the goal either.

The series was decided in the corners. Bruins conceded them. Panthers just outworked them.

I can’t believe that’s the last time we’re going to see Bergy and Krejci.

This is what I was trying to say earlier.

This is why they need to fire Montgomery (and probably Neely since he seems like he’s the puppet master for everything in this organization)

Horrible way for it to end for Bergeron. All world defense absolutely humiliated all playoffs.

The series wasn’t reffed that badly. The Bruins shit down their leg.
The one glaringly awful call definitely could’ve made a difference. But honestly, they didn’t deserve to win anyway…they were outplayed for large portions of 4 straight home games against a large underdog.

In the last 13 years the Bruins choked a 3-0 series lead and 3-0 G7 lead at home, choked a G6 lead at home in an elimination SCF game without even forcing OT, didn’t even show up for a SCF G7 at home, and now choked as the best regular season team of all time against an 8 seed that barely squeaked in, with a 3-1 series lead, and a lead in the last minute, in G7, at home.

I have no idea how they managed to win in 2011 because they have otherwise wilted in the biggest spots probably more than any other franchise in that time. I guess Thomas being unreal, mostly.

I’m serious when I say at 51 I doubt I’ll see them compete for a Cup again in my lifetime. They’re losing a ton of guys and the prospects are very thin. This was there all in year and they choked it away.

There’s something about this core that just seems to shrivel in big moments. If they can’t win this year they need to blow it up.
core has blown a 3-0 series lead, a 3-1 series lead, and went to Game 7 after being up 3-1 twice. Yeah, the core let’s this happen too

The game 6 game winner came 30 seconds after a blatant trip
Neat. How many goals were off blatant giveaways?

Refs missed calls both ways. The Bruins played like absolute garbage. I mean, the fucking NESN guys are killing them for playing scared. The called back goal on the hand pass was really the only egregious, atypical thing.

I mean, I’m not even a hockey guy. Haven’t played anything besides parking lot roller hockey. But the lack of adjustments was obvious to my amateur eye. They got beat by the same issues by the same team for a week and a half.

They have been chokers for nearly the entirety of their post-Orr existence. There’s a deep rot in the org that they’ve never shaken.

Bergeron is going to retire with only one Cup while that turd Kane has 3. It’s a fucking disgrace. This org has failed him.

It's possible for both that they played bad and that the refs played a major role to be true

That's THE worst loss in Boston in Boston sports history. All teams.

I don't do hyperbole. That's objectively true in history unless I'm missing something. Pats Super Bowls all neutral, Red Sox have all come on the road, ditto Celtics.

Holy fuck me.
Ummm, the Bruins lost the SCF in game 7 at home and barely competed in it.

Tim Thomas.

Aside from him this core chokes in big moments. It’s an indelible part of their legacy.

Here
Orlov was better tonight, but Carlo was the only competent guy all series. McAvoy and Lindholm were disasters. Forbort looked like he was the fat old guy in beer league. Clifton an AHL lifer. Gryz was fine.
Yeah, 2/3rds of the defense was a disaster at any given time. Just bizarre.

Up 3-1 with 2 home games and they blow it.

Third period lead in game 6 and they blow it.

Third period lead in game 7 and they blow it.

I mean....it's hard to blow a series worse than this.

The defensemen let this team down.
This.

McAvoy was not himself. People will slam Forbort but he’s a 3rd pair defenseman. Grz is good as gone now. Orlov is going to be too expensive. Clifton is gone to a richer contract. That leaves McAvoy, Lindholm and Carlo. Not a bad trio with Lohrei needing seasoning in AHL.

I can’t even contemplate the Bruins without Bergeron. And probably Krejci.
