I'll never forget the last 2 months. But for the first time, I'm glad it's over.
Not that I've been battling mono or anything, but I'm fully behind this. I'm just beat. I've been a huge ball of tension for nearly 2 months now and I just don't have anything left.

Which is fine, because the Bruins are the fucking Stanley Cup Champions.

I'm watching the replay of Felger and Amonte on CSN right now, and they were showing the interview of Seguin. Hilarious.

Getting beer and champagne dumped on his head: "I'M IN CANADA!"

And then one of his teammates says "you've been caught cold!". Awesome.

What a night last night. My girlfriend and I were fortunate enough to have been in town, as we flew up from Florida yesterday morning. Spent the evening at a pub on Boylston and then celebrating a bit with the crowds afterwards. Today we walked to the Garden and yelled and cheered with the rest of the folks still soaking it all in. Can't wait for the parade on Saturday.

Like canderson, I, too, would like to give back. Just tell me where to send the check. I hope to see some of you on Saturday!

Funny you mention that! I started jamming with some new guys on Tuesday, and we'll be looking for a name!

I'm going to be getting a puppy soon and his name's gonna be Tim Thomas "Brady" Hoke. Might drop the Hoke depending on how this fall goes. Might also make it Tom Thimas Brady.

That ball of tension went the way of Mr. Hamhuis'.

Their battle cry has become: yeah, well, he'd get SO exposed in 'another system'. It amazes me that people still bust this guy's balls. He's won two fuckin' Vezinas, a Conn Smythe and a Cup. No shit their great D helps him...but he also bails them out just as much.
I remember seeing something to the effect that the last guy to win the Vezina, Conn Smythe, and Stanley Cup was Bernie Parent in the 70's. Although the winner for this year has not been announced, I'm fairly confident that Thomas will take it home and supplant Parent.

Well considering we pretty much added 3 additional nights of drinking Crown-infused drinks and general debauchery on top of what we were doing before. Yeah. I need a break. :rolling:

........of course, now we get to actually focus attention on this juggernaut of a Red Sox team for a couple months, then hockey WILL BE BACK. Holy crap.

Does anyone know whether the Cup has been inside Fenway Park? Did they make such road shows back in the early 70s and before?

It would be cool if they set it on top of the Sox' bullpen during the game. Maybe Jordan's could give away a free ottoman to everyone in attendance if a Sox player deposits one in the Cup.

As someone who mostly lurks, but reads game threads and RMPS religiously each day, I have to say that this was just an awesome experience. I spent the last two months watching each game with my son, ignoring my wife after 8 p.m., and enjoying a great ride. The drama of the whole playoffs, from being convinced they were out in five or six games to Montreal, to beating those cocky, arrogant, douche-y bastards from British Columbia, it was an experience I hope to relive again. Soon.

Congratulations to the players who were easy to root for. And thanks to all the regulars and to all the bandwagoners at RMPS who made this a fun, stressful, wonderful two months.

Climbed Mt. Monadnock today and saw a Bruins flag at the very tippity top. That's when it really sunk in. This is awesome.

Edit: might have pics later, it wasn't my camera.

I don't have a ton to add, I just wanted to be a part of a game 7 championship winning thread. I will say that I watched this in Newton and it was one of the most enjoyable sporting games I have watched, non-stadium edition. For various reasons I have not been able to watch any of the previous championship teams playoffs while in Boston (with the fantastic exception of Game 1 of the 2004 World Series at Fenway), and it was fantastic to be surrounded by Bruins fans. What a great experience. Lets do it again next year

Nip, as a lurker I feel obliged to give back.

So, because your actions (URI too, duh) I'll make a $50 donation (would be more but I was laid off a month ago) to whatever charity you Bruins diehards deem appropriate. Not sure if Jimmy Fund has the same appeal as to Red Sox fans, but if it does even all the more awesome.
I don't know about you guys, but if anyone feels like donating, I'd suggest donating to the family of Derek Bedard (Talon).

See this thread and these posts for details - and thanks.

Something I forgot about...

This year, for some reason, I thought it would be a good idea to save my ticket stubs after the games. Usually this sort of thing I wind up forgetting about after the first few games, and it goes by the wayside. For whatever reason, every time I left the Garden this season, I would make sure I still had my ticket stub. I thought something might happen, and they'd be a nice souvenir to look on several years down the road. Unfotunately, a few from the Habs series are missing (damn playofff tickets were small and flimsy), but I've got all the rest.

What do I do with them now? It's a pretty cool little collection.

Watching the CBC replay, I noticed during the Cup hoisting they played Dirty Water on the PA. I missed that last night. Pretty cool.

CBC broadcast of game 7 starting on NHLN now.
FYI, games from the Montreal series will air today (6/17), games 1 and 2 in the afternoon, the wins starting at 8 and 10. The network is running through every win and some of the losses, so if your DVR has room just grab everything called "Path to the Cup".

I had to watch that game again to make sure it was real. Also noticed how much better the CBC was with the postgame celebration as opposed to NBC/Versus. That should be expected I guess but it really wasn't even close.

Anyone planning on going to the Sox game tomorrow night? I have to imagine the Cup will be there with a handful of players - shit maybe all of them. Could make for a cool moment.

The Bruins will be honored at Fenway prior to Sunday's game and yes, Lord Stanley's cup will be in attendance.

He's the B's goalie coach. Insert some generic joke about me having sex with your mom or something along those lines.
At Game 6 I saw 3 kids between 7-12 wearing B's jerseys with "Essensa" on them. I told their dad it was awesome. He was Essensa's brother or brother-in-law and all he could talk about was how much the guy loves the city and the organization. Hearing Tuukka and Thomas talk about the level of respect they have for him is really cool.

I've always been a casual follower of the Bruins, but not enough of a hockey fan to watch many games.
I watched as much of this Stanley Cup as I could... and it was AWESOME.

I was busy as hell all week. Excited beyond belief, but tonight I have nothing planned. Except for watching game 7 in its entirety.

I have visited RMPS almost everyday for I don't know how long. It looks bad that I only started posting anything when the made a deep run, but it is what it is. I used to go on the HF board quite often. When I found this one I stopped. The most knowledgeable Bruins / hockey fans are here.

Thank you for calming me down in heartbreaking loses and getting me even more excited for wins.

A Bruins Stanley Cup and membership in the same week. AWESOME.
