Game 6 at Florida---Get the Job Done

Have two friends trying to get to 100 days…all power to anyone fighting for sobriety!
It’s been a mind numbingly badly coached series though and he’s seemed overmatched.
Swayman needs to start G7, but I just don’t see how you do it with him seeing zero live action for 99% of this series. Zero reason for him not to get a start in G5 or G6. Just so stupid.
In a game like last night, after we go up 5-4 on the SHG, is it feasible for Monty to have thought, I have four legit D who haven't been playing to the level I expect (McAvoy, Orlov, Lindholm, and Carlo), and I have two who have been a tire fire all night (Clifton and Fobort); I'm going to try to get through the last 10 mins of this game with just the top two D pairs?
OK, so Swayman is not 'cold' in the sense that a full time back-up or a player coming back from injury is cold.
He's only cold in the sense that psychologically he has not really been asked to make the pivot from spectator to the guy with the franchise's season on his shoulders. But he's also a young, excellent and (in a good way) cocky and crazy goalie. If he can get on the ice and get through the first five minutes without giving up an ugly one, he'll be fine. I think you have to risk that ugly early goal while he's getting his bearing because that is less risky than a third period with Ullmark's tired groin.

it may even help drive more discipline bc you’ll have the whole lineup thinking, “we need to protect swayman who hasn’t played in a while…” (at least early)
Last night was worse than Wednesday even though I was there in person on Wednesday. Blowing a pair of 3rd period leads. Ugh.
This moment is the gift of sports. Everything on the line, nothing scripted. If you want a walk in the park, go to the damn park and stay away from sports.

Whatever people think of Don Cherry, he was the master at this-they’d get screwed in Montreal and he’d intimidate the refs by standing on the bench screaming, and reaming them out post-game. Then you’d see defenseman like Doak and Milbury getting away with grabs and hooks on the much faster Habs.
Playoff hockey makes me angrier than any other sport-probably the back and forth and either team can suddenly score . It’s thrilling and exciting-and I hate watching it because it’s torture, even with a 2 or 3 goal lead in the last few minutes.
It’s like Keith Foulk on fumes facing Tony Clark-except 60 minutes of it.
Per Corsi. The defensemen were really bad last night. Clifton was horrible. McAvoy and Orlov had terrible games… like Forbort level bad. Lindholm with a huge unforced error but played well. Carlo, the guy everyone wants gone, was outstanding. Marchand, Bergeron and Bertuzzi were bad.
Game 7 will need our best players to play to their capabilities. Bergeron, Marchand and McAvoy will get it done. Coyle need to play like he did in the first part of the series. He’s been a passenger lately. Put Grz and Frederic in the lineup.

A week or so ago we booked movie tickets for Sunday at 7:00, not factoring in the possibility of a Game 7. We're going to the movie. And when we get out, I'll either be pleasantly surprised that the Bs belatedly took care of business or bummed but relieved that I didn't have to witness the completion of an epic collapse. Godspeed to those of you who do watch, either in person or on TV.
There is something about being human that seems to gravitationally direct us towards suffering. A pull towards despair that we find easier at times to succumb to. Like the slow pull towards a black hole, it feels hopeless and inevitable. It’s hard to push ourselves away from it. I find myself there sometimes, weighed down by the difficulties of life, and kicking constantly to keep myself mentally from drowning.
Keep kicking my man. You are not alone in the water, and the shore is closer than you think.

This whole Goalie thing is really aggravating to me. I watched the best college hockey team ever my senior year 93 University of Maine (didn’t lose a game and starred Paul kariya as a freshman) and they rotated Garth Snow and Mike Dunham through the season and those two rotated through the run up to Olympics and even in the middle of the ncaa championship game (for the win!). It wasn’t easy and did create tension on occasion but that’s what they coached and implemented.
Going to Swayman in game seven is a dead site panic move, since you clearly stopped rotating goalies as soon as the lights got bright, but I think you have to do it anyway.
Yeah, but you really can't expect the Bruins coach to be aware of what worked for some random college team 30 years ago...
If only there was someone from that University of Maine team around the Bruins to talk to them about goalie rotations.
Thing I keep wondering is, is this really all Monty's decision? Isn't there a staff of people (including Monty's boss) that has a say in this to the point where if he says "we're going with Ullmark" and there's an important voice that disagrees, they hash it out until either Monty convinces the others Ullmark is their best option or they convince him its gotta be Swayman.
They all have more info than we do (they see the same things, but know more about the players and team) so you'd think that a collective decision leads to the best decision. Not just Monty saying "fuck it, we're riding our guy".
I may not live through the night tomorrow, especially if the lose. Please don’t lose this game……
Marchand is a great player m but in game 6 he was a -2 with 4 assists. At 5v5 he was not good along with Bertuzzi and Bergeron both -3.
I still can’t believe Sway didn’t get a shot to help close it out. Only thing left is to make it moot.
