So, a Facebook page has been set up for a "Free Tom Brady" rally, which has been gaining both local and national attention.  Details are, it's at Gillette, "Patriot Place Parking Lot #4", tomorrow Mon 5/24 at 11:00am.

Purpose:

A peaceful rally to protest the unjust football arrest of half God half man Tom Brady

Well said.  I'm not local but I figured some of you would want to show up.  Some amusing posts on the Facebook page, too - some guy named Denis wants to burn Goodell and Wells in effigy.  I'm only about 80% sure it's not Denis Leary.

IMO these protests make our fan base look like a bunch of morons. I'm incensed by how this whole thing was handled, but people need to take a step back for a second. It's not on the level of NSA spying on citizens, treatment of Guantanamo Bay prisoners, or gay rights. Tom has many millions of dollars, a union, and high powered attorneys backing him. Calm down, let the process play out, and go enjoy some damn burgers and beer on this fine Memorial Day Weekend.

Everything you just said is true. That noted, living in DC, I'm kind of numb to stupid protests (we had a big GMO one here this week that fucked the PM commute). This doesn't even rank in the top fifty moronic protest movements I've seen. Which of course is reflective more of society than anything.

There are moronic motivations and moronic subject material, though, when it comes to moronic protesting.  I'm sure you've seen many of the former, but this almost has to be a societal nadir of the latter.  No matter the idiocy ones spouts on GMOs, at least you're still trying to discuss public health and safety.

where I was last at
Its not my thing, (the last demonstration I went to was on Boston Commons in 1970), but If some Pat fans want to show up to voice support for Brady, whats the harm?

Opportunity cost.
Seriously. Those idiots could be spending their valuable time posting in and reading a 365 page forum thread about the situation, and then another 115 page thread about the aitaution, with additional threads about Kraft, and the impact of Brady's suspension on the upcoming season.
Oh the humanity!
