Facebook App and wifi

Weird thing happening at home when I or my wife try to use our Facebook app on our phones or tablets.
 
When we open the app it is SUPER slow in loading and then when/if it finally does, half the images from people's posts are missing.  Using my Kindle Fire if I go to Facebook using the web browser, everything works fine. On my phone, if I disable wifi and use the app while using the 4g, the app works fine.  Same thing goes for my wife with her phone and her Asus tablet.  
 
This only happens at home, any other wifi signals and it works fine.
 
All other apps on the devices work perfectly while connected to the wifi.  
 
My internet is through Comcast.  
 
I have hard booted both the modem and router and that has not fixed the problem.
 
Any ideas as to what might be the reason for this?

I've had that sort of thing happen with my phone.  All I did to "fix" it was disconnect my phone from my wifi and then delete ("forget") my network from the accepted list.  After that, I just re-connect to the wifi as if it was a new network and things seemed to clear up.

There may be something with the Comcast DNS server and Facebook hosts.

Yes. When in doubt, always delete and refresh. It fixes so much.

Im not sure if I have done that.  I will try it when I get home.   If that doesn't work, im gonna default my router and set the network up again.  Hopefully it will work.

I've been struggling with the same issue for quite some time. I went so far as to replace my wireless access point at home with no luck.
 
I do take some comfort in knowing I'm not alone in that one.

I've had similar issues with Comcast, on my previous account. Facebook straight up didn't work through wifi. I don't think I've noticed it since moving (although I still get my internet through wifi), but I'll check tonight.

Try setting your DNS servers on your computer/phone or your router to use the Google servers https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns/ (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4).  If it was a Comcast DNS issue, then changing to different name servers will show that.  You can then choose to switch back, but this would be a good test to isolate that issue.

I "forgot" the network and reconnected last night and that didn't work.  
 
While lying in bed I accessed the router thru an app on my kindle looking to see if I could reset to default from there.   I saw a option to release and renew the IP address, so for shits and giggles i tried that and when it finished, the FB app worked on all devices that were having problems.  When I woke up this morning it was still working so I guess that's that.
