Last season at Goodison. I was hoping that the last game would be against either Forest, who played the first league game at Goodison in 1892, or Villa, as Everton-Villa is the most-played fixture in English football. Alas, it's Southampton, which is ok I guess.

Many suitors for the club, now that 777 has gone tits up. Kind of dizzying. More on that later.

A sad note on the death of Kevin Campbell. Super Kev was a presence in the box as an old-style No. 9, a fan favorite on the pitch, and a presence in the community after his career.

An entity called Vici Private Finance (too close to Vichy for my tastes, but what do I know) has just thrown its hat into the ring. Someone named Vatche Manoukian has also done something (I am not making these up).

But Friedkin is close enough to getting at least a period of exclusivity that the Everton board I frequent has closed the catch-all thread and is discussing him as the heavy favorite, if not inevitabiliity.

That's funny, the Everton Discord I’m on seems to basically think it's a done deal even with the Vici and Vatche attempts. Already moved on to showcasing Friedkin’s stunt work in Dunkirk. Fingers crossed, Moshiri out very soon

Friedkin group entered into formal period of exclusivity with Moshiti for purchase of his shares. Looks like it’s happening.

Everton Football Club would like to provide fans and stakeholders with an update regarding new investment into the Club.
Blue Heaven Holdings has received significant interest from several highly respected parties interested in investing in the Club.
The Club can confirm today (21 June) that a period of exclusivity has been granted to The Friedkin Group to progress discussions to acquire a majority shareholding in Everton.
All parties will now work together to conclude this process. In the meantime, the Club will continue to operate as normal.
When there is further news to share, it will be provided via the Club’s official communication channels.
official statement. given Everton's historically awful communications, this is close to done.

I'm keeping the typo.

In player news, as expected, Leeds and Everton extend Jack Harrison's loan for another year. Sound business, Harrison is not THE answer, but he's a solid contributor and has a good year at the club under his belt.

Villa and Everton also are planning a swap of Lewis Dobbin for Tim Iroegbunam for about 10 million pounds each way. This seems to be a PSR manoeuvre, since it allows both teams to book this as a 10 million pound profit, while amortising the cost over ~4 years.

Covered in the transfer thread. Not a swap per se but two technically independent transactions. You’re absolutely right- since both players are homegrown it’s 100% PSR profit realized now while the hit gets spread out.

Sorry I am out of the loop. Is a new soulless stadium being built ?
A new stadium is being built on Bramley-Moore Dock.

"Soulless"- I don't think so. The Moshiri regime was an utter failure in the transfer market - but they seem to have got the stadium right. They've really been sweating the details. Everton public opinion is solidly behind it.

Ndiyae is capped by Senegal. He scored 3 goals and 5 assists, in 19 starts and 11 substitute appearances, playing across the front line for Marseille last year.

Everton's talks with the Friedkin Group over a takeover of the club have been called off after the two parties failed to reach an agreement.
summary of ~50 articles and tweets:

The club owed a shit ton of money, to 777, which had loaned the club about 200M during its exclusivity period, at 14%, and many others. Friedkin paid off the non- 777 debt. But now 777 is facing civil and criminal action in several countries. It’s about to go tits up. Another group called A Cap has some sort of interesting the 777 debt. The 777/ACap debt requires immediate repayment if the club changes hands. Friedkin had been trying to get 777 to agree to a resolution but they wouldn’t budge. So Friedkin walked because he didn’t want to buy into 777’s various legal troubles.

The club now owes Friedkin money but it’s sound debt, reasonable rates, to a solvent lender, so the club is out of danger and relatively stable. Friedkins debt stake means that he is still going to be negotiating with any potential buyers and 777/ACap.

Really what has to happen is for 777 to accept the inevitable haircut.

Toffees drew 3-3 away to Sligo Rovers of the Irish league today. Sligo sold Seamus Coleman to Everton in 1899 for twenty pounds four shillings sixpence and a mill crankshaft.

Was the mill crankshaft more than 30 years old and had been previously used at a fancier mill?
