I really hope he gets one of those TB ir ATL specials where he gets locked up in MIA for a long time to come. I have no love for that city or especially the club/management/ownership, but it would just be good for the game if he was able to stay there.

Edit: And how fun will it be watching the NL ROY race unfold this year?

He was 6’4” when the Marlins signed him in 2019. His ability to repeat his delivery and throw strikes is impressive for someone now 6’8”. Most really tall pitchers have command issues early on.

This is going to be wild over the next few months. Corbin Carroll, EDLC, Jordan Walker, and Eury Perez are probably the front runners, but Kodai Senga, Matt McLain, Nolan Jones, and I dunno maybe Andrew Abbott are all in the conversation. Luis Matos maybe too. To answer your question: very. It will be very fun.

I agree 100%. It stinks that Miami keeps on developing incredible talent but has to ship it all off (not to mention the tragic death of Fernandez). I'd like to see them actually keep these young guys and be good for a while.

I can't see anyone beating Carroll who has been playing at a high level for the whole season.

He might be in the MVP consideration if he keeps it up, let alone RotY.

I don't think that takes away from how much fun these kids could be to watch down the stretch, though.

Plus it's just fun to see the Reds, Marlins, and Diamondbacks all in playoff position! Way more interesting from a narrative perspective than the AL at the moment - in the AL, I think the most interesting story right now is the Angels, but maybe that's just me.

Oh, I agree. It's just that Carroll is winning this thing unless he gets hurt and is out for the rest of the year.

Gonna guess that's only to keep him pitching over the break and he will be back up for his next start, as he would be starting tomorrow on normal rest.

Edit: Or I can actually read the article and see it is for workload management. I'll show myself out.

It's not really, it's to keep his salaries down in the future by cutting into his service time, it's quite lame by MIA to do.

Could be both, since he's already pitched more innings than he has before
