Maybe I'm a conspiracy theorist - but I thought it was in reference to Spygate, and Deflated Footballs.
Makes sense. Did he bring along his antler spray and murder?Zolack reporting Ray Lewis gave a pregame speech in the Bills locker room.
To be fair, Steve was pretty noncommittal on who his actual pick was on-air (edit: on ESPN that is). He said that he could see both sides and why there was a debate, and kept avoiding taking a stand even when Levy prodded him, even though he did spend more time talking about Newton. It seemed like he knew Dilfer and Lewis were about to take polar opposite sides and didn't want to be lumped in with their collective lunacy. He also rolled his eyes at Lewis in the pregame when he said he'd take Rex Ryan over Belichick.Shocker, Young said that Brady was MVP on WEEI yesterday. Good to see he's a model of integrity and consistency.
Thanks for pointing that out. I had not caught the pre-game show and was going on the description provided above regarding Young's MVP pick.To be fair, Steve was pretty noncommittal on who his actual pick was on-air (edit: on ESPN that is). Correct me if I'm wrong, but hadn't they been sans ombudsman for well over a year until hiring mr jets fan? That’s why ESPN has had an ombudsman -- now titled public editor -- since 2005.
More likely their way of keeping her away from Roger. They can stash her in Bristol or where ever, doing her show rather than crashing RG pressers.Rachel Nichols will return to ESPN. Is this their way of standing up to Roger?
Wow that is some Machiavelli shit. No way would Rachel let that happen though.More likely their way of keeping her away from Roger. They can stash her in Bristol or where ever, doing her show rather than crashing RG pressers.
Yeah, it's two different authors brainiac. They're allowed to have different opinions. In fact, some people might actually see the value of reading opposing opinions on topics.ESPN cracks me up. Contrast these two headlines:
D-backs should get good value from Greinke
Red Sox sign David Price, but overpay to get their ace
Both were on espn.com's main page.
Compare:
Greinke, 32, 6 years, $34+ million a year, career era of 3.35, career k/9 of 8.1
Price, 30, 7 years, $31 million a year, career era of 3.09, career k/9 of 8.6
But Greinke's deal represents "good value" while Price's deal represents an "overpay", according to espn. Okayyyyyyyy....
Why not a different Rachel NicholsWhelp - there's goes my Rachel Nichols crush. She is now dead to me.
Isn't it now known that the Red Sox bid $20M more to get Price? By definition, they overpaid for him...ESPN cracks me up. Contrast these two headlines:
Red Sox sign David Price, but overpay to get their ace
.
Yes.Was the insult necessary?
A perfectly valid response. I was just curiousYes.
Embarrassment is a legitimate way of enforcing norms. In this case, the norm is not sucking.
You just never though someone would dig up that picture of you and turn it into a meme. Why would that have been posted here?
And on no number of thoughts is it worth posting once, let alone twice.
Well that's your opinion. I've seen many, MANY clever things posted here over the few years I've been lurking and given the title of this thread, thought it fit. Not only does it ring true, but IMO it's funny. I may be a rival fan but I appreciate a damn good baseball forum because I'm a baseball fan first and happen to appreciate a good source of baseball discussion. (The Bruins' HF Boards is another respected source due to the discussion & insights but I'm not a member there and will probably just be a lurker forever.) Sorry if I don't harbor the hostilities rival fans are "supposed to".Why would that have been posted here?

What the fuck are you talking about? Your fandom has nothing to do with this. You posted a shitty unfunny picture that had nothing to do with ESPN being pathetic, and you were called on it. It was not informative, not clever, not funny, and didn't apply to the thread. Basically a complete whiff.Well that's your opinion. And to stay on thread topic, yeah, ESPN apparently continues to be pathetic ( as it was the last time I tuned in years ago) so that's why I assumed, and posted it.
I made the mistake of reading the responses to that tweet.“@mortreport: There’s nothing better on NYE than some football and @Dominos #HomeOnNYE”
I made the mistake of reading the responses to that tweet.
I'd ask why that merits the responses he got, but I see that would be a waste of time ...
He does until he takes ownership of it. (YMMV).No I know. Half of the responses are making fun of his deflategate tweet (and his horrible taste in pizza) But a lot of them are calling him out on his paid tweet
And it's sports fans, they take things too seriously. Mort fucked up with his deflategate tweet but he doesn't deserve to still be chastised about it constantly. (Which is what I assume you mean by "responses he got)
Yeah if you read his blog or even his chats, he wouldn't be caught dead being associated with Dominos. He'd probably quit first. At least I know (hope?) Keith Law would tell dominos/ESPN to get lost if they wanted him to tweet something like this, given his food tweets
The same thing happened to Mike Reiss right?Wouldn't shock me at all if these guys aren't the ones tweeting these ads, that it is an intern or a bot in Bristol that is doing it for them.
Skipper and ESPN's management team totally misread the market and overspent on everything.“ESPN now appears poised to become Disney’s most troubled business as consumer behavior shifts rapidly,” Greenfield wrote in his post.
