It might just be me and Cellar-Door up for the first match, but getting to watch Ennar Valencia and Yannick Bolasie in the same game is a fun way to start the day.

I don't like Di Maria. He has so much skill but does so little.

In general, the Premiership had too much diving like the rest of international soccer, it is really slowing the game down and looks cheesy.

No one is going to accuse LVG of not having stones.  Subs off his record signing at half time for a few terrible decisions.

Berba-esque touch from Falcao to draw a correct penalty and red card.  It was O'Shea, but the ref has wrongly sent off Wes Brown.  Rooney at the spot...

The Invincibles doc isn't that good, at least if you're an Arsenal fan. Mainly because they've done about 12 docs like it, and because Dennis, Freddie and Bobby aren't interviewed.

Keown strikes a lone melancholy note about losing in Big Cup to Chelsea, which still haunts me. As does throwing away the title the year before, which would have given us one of the greatest three year runs ever.

There's another version of this match where Aguero is on target and City stroll it undeservedly but Liverpool have been the better side. City have played a naive match to Liverpools strengths, very disappointed with this

Chamberlain in for Welbeck, Gabriel in for Mertesacker.  I like those changes.

I still wish we had a better option than playing both of Ozil and Cazorla as part of a midfield three.  Given the recent issues the team has had, any of Ramsey/Wilshere/Arteta would be preferred to playing both of them.

Everton enjoying all the possession but don't look threatening at all, story of their season so far.

One problem with Barkley today: He needs to look up to find his target before crossing.  He keeps being fronted by a defender, tapping the ball to the side to get space for the cross, then takes the extra beat to find his target.  By the time he finds the ball again, he's closed down.  I don't watch enough Everton matches to know if Arsenal are doing an especially good job of closing down runners, killing Barkley's confidence that there will be someone there, or if he's just unable to do it.

Nearly 27 minutes in, the first moment of any excitement in a very boring game.  Of course it's a Giroud near miss.

Edit: I guess there was also the Gabriel poor play where Ospina had to clean up before Lukaku scored.

Gabriel just saved Koscielny from pulling a Mertesacker.  Lukaku really should have done better imho.

Finally!  Good for Giroud.  He's now on 9 goals in his last 13 games I believe, which despite the abysmal hour last Wednesday, is really quite good.  Arsenal just are not the same without him on form.

Hopefully that goal will enliven the game.  Going from Liverpool-City to this game is like reading a dictionary after a near death experience.

Gabriel looks very active, like an intercepting machine.  Coquelin has had a very forgettable game so far with several poor passes and giveaways.
