Go watch the goal Son just scored for his 100th in the PL. Wow.

Apparently there is massive heat between Stellini and De Zebri? Tottenham and Brighton coaches had to be separated in the middle of the game, both coaches now sent off.

Spurs get a massive break not getting a penalty called against them on what looked like a pretty clear foul on Mitoma.

VAR in the Brighton/Spurs game just missed an obvious penalty. I thought the handball in the first half wasn't clear and obvious and the Welbeck deflected goal could have stood. Yikes.

I’m a Spurs fan and the reffing has been an absolute shitshow, mostly against Brighton.

If Stellini wasn’t red carded also I’d be convinced of match fixing it’s been that wild.

And yet we’ll hear nothing from the FA, former referees will argue it was called perfectly, and the status quo remains.

I tuned into Spurs-Brighton on Peacock just in time for the RDZ-Stellini pre-match awkwardness (it didn't reach Conte-Teuchel levels). Was there some sort of fight in the tunnel on the way out?

just watching the Spurs-Brighton highlights - how is that a handball against MacAllister? His arm was against his body, and the ball struck his hip and arm on to the sides

The Athletic reporting that Leicester are hit after Jesse Marsch. I didn’t expect his stock would be so high.

Palace was done 1-0 to Leeds and now up 3-1, just scored two goals in under 5 minutes. Small sample size post-Viera (and against significantly worse competition) but looking much more assertive and aggressive on offense, which is nice to see.

That last goal from Eze and Olise was a thing of beauty.
Right?? And now 4-1. This has been a delight to watch.

In the Mavs are giving up thread (I think) people were talking about tanking and why some leagues should have relegation to avoid it. One of the things I'm really liking about the Premier League is that it makes makes a lot more of the games matter. Like this feels like a playoff game, because both teams are closer to relegation than they'd like and these points are so important.

What a half by the pride of South London. They should be relatively safe now.

The relegation battle is getting clarified now. Palace, Wolves, West Ham, and Bournemouth all getting three points. I keep thinking Leicester City are going to make a move but it is getting pretty tough. Still a lot of footie left I guess, but starting to look like four or five teams in play for two relegation spots — assuming S’ton is as cooked as they seem.

The front of Liverpool is still scary to me, but I hope Martinelli and Jesus dribble past TAA a dozen times.

Today is Jesus' day.

Rumor is that Taylor Swift is in Liverpool. Coincidence that she is there at the same time as two teams whose primary colors of red are playing? I bet FSG replaces YNWA with Red...

The ref in this game is ridiculous with what he's letting go.

edit: apparently using your arms to shove people over is considered good defending.

He might as well be sitting in a chair in the center circle.
Liverpool's defenders are simply shoving every Arsenal forward when they have the ball.. with two armed shoves.

And there have been a bunch of fouls the other way too that aren't getting called... ref is going to lose control of the match in the second half and we're going to see some reds instead of him actually doing his job.

Xhaka seemed kind of hell bent on getting Liverpool back in it. He needs to calm down. I could easily see him getting a second caution early in the half.

Yeah.. that shove in the corner with Alexander Arnold was the old Xhaka where he simply loses control and gets a red.

The thing about 2-0 being the most dangerous lead in football really does have some truth to it. I mean, not usually — most of the time when a team is leading 2-0 it is just because they are superior and that really won’t change. But in games against matched teams or where the leading team is playing away it really feels like the third goal is almost always scored by the trailing team. Probably confirmation bias at work, but it does feel like it is actually a thing.

Xhaka has to be the money line favorite for a second yellow / red card right?
Or Ben White. He is having to work hard against dangerous players protecting a one goal lead. Seems odds on that this game won’t end 11 v. 11.

I am so fucking nervous having Holding in the middle instead of Saliba. He can't get back soon enough.

Holding has actually been pretty good, but I just don't have the confidence.

So Ben White's..where he got the ball.. was a card and that wasn't even a foul?
