i was a big proponent of Arsenal signing either Lukaku or Balotelli, really glad we got Welbeck instead.

Entertaining first half - Liverpool have had the majority of possession and chances, but Everton has looked dangerous on the counter.  Lukaku is a monster, an absolute beast.

I was thinking the same.

Slightly disappointing after a lively start. Everton just doesn't have the depth to deal with losing Barkley and Mirallas. They have two real attacking threats on the pitch and that's not enough. Liverpool have four attackers but two of them just don't seem all that good (Markovic, Lallana) and one of them is supposed to be leading the line but mainly intent on bombing shots from distance.

Please expand. I can sort of understand Balotell. But Lukaku?

I was really referring to Balotelli.  I don't think Mourinho would have sold us Lukaku and we were never in for him.

For the record, I do like Balotelli a lot and was disappointed when Liverpool got him instead of Arsenal.

Crazy strike from Jagielka of all people.

Fair result, Liverpool had the better of the play overall but neither side really controlled the game or created that many great chances.

Holy crap that was a shot.

Alex Song with the early yellow.  Yawn.

By the way, why is NBC showing West Ham vs a bottom-table team on their flagship channel instead of City or Chelsea?  Does West Ham really have that big of a following in the US?

Just saw who West Ham is playing. You'll fit in well here.

Rooney sees Red

EDIT: Straight red, and on replay, it looks deserved.  No attempt at the ball, just kicks the player.

It's not going well for City but the ref is doing a great job in the City v Hull match. Hull are playing incredibly physically and there are barely any foul calls let some cards. This is what the game should look like, to me

Spurs XI: Lloris, Naughton, Kaboul, Vertonghen, Rose; Capoue, Mason; Chadli, Eriksen, Lamela; Adebayor.

Glad to see Vertoghen back in the starting lineup, but Naughton ahead of Dier and Mason ahead of Bentaleb or Dembele is, ahem, curious.

Chelsea now up 3-0.  They're just a monster at the moment.  If not for Lampard's own goal, they'd be on maximum points in the league.

I guess it's a nice play like that which makes Ramsey think he can send back heels to nobody all day.
